Jack the case looks little bit off ? but that's just me perfect for a no date sub would be the old MBW 1680 case with 5113 markings. cheers, Frank
tr4driver
Seems no reason the gen bezel assembly shouldn't work since the gen crystal fits. Currently waiting for gen spring bars to see how that works out. Love to hear other opinions...... kbh... have you actually fitted a gen crystal to yours? I'm curious as to whether or not it really will work. The crystal retainer ring is definitely different than the gen ring, but it might still work. My overall opinion of this watch is that it's probably worth the $200 price, but not in the same league with the MBW/MBK version (for $370). deltatahoe
thanks for the review lani; quick question -- tell me about the datefont: is it an improvement over previous versions? i saw from josh's page that it has open 6 & 9's; the font looks a bit bolder too. are we talking flat top 3's? any comment on the silver/brushed appearance (relative to the genuine article of course)? thanks in advance deltatahoe ps, i sent you a PM last week & haven't heard back

I wonder about the colour of the DW.. this is 'dark" silver but appears light in the pics.. my 9411 DW is silver but a light tone and appears white in the pics unless I do macs in the sunlight.. the 3 appears to be the same as the MBK dw just a little bolder,.. IMO this model is good for Noobs and not "yet" for full modding .. if it would help I can dissect the watch for measurements although with the crown positioned lower ..and the lug issues.. don't know if you want to throw the money into parts for mods..the best part out of the watch just may be the bracelet.. hollow links.. and really well done, compared next to my gens. ..imo hopefully we'll see improvements by the maker.. but it is great for the industry as it has already lowered prices on the high end.. ps. .. sorry about the pm.. I'll get to you.. been crazy with sorting out a move and reorganizing my business.. A C Lani
Jack1024
IMO this model is good for Noobs and not "yet" for full modding .. That might just be me... I would tweak it (bezel/minor case mods, possibly a slow beat movement) but I probably wouldn't go full-Monty on it.

From certain angles, it almost black out completely. I've handled gen watches with silver date wheels, and the color really doesn't change based on view angle. This one really does, and is much more difficult to read that the gen silver date wheels I've seen.
FxrAndy
Granted, the rep game is a bit of a crap shoot, and I agree with most of your comments. However, I'm not sure that there is a way to categorize the claim "Same Bezel Clip-on Construction as Genuine!" anything other than a lie. Calling it marketing is very generous IMHO. I did buy one, but I knew the risks ahead of time, and I'm willing to live with what I got, but at the same time, I believe that the trusted dealers here should have some degree of accountability in exchange for their trusted status. Well we have already have a thread all about marketing and it is called "little white lies"

Why is it exactly that these dealers are trusted???

kbh
Any news on this? Did you get your Clarks? Yes the Clark crystal sits just the smallest bit taller, less than 1/4 mm. Just barely noticeable. I haven't installed it yet since I'm waiting for a few other things but the outside diameter is exactly the same. Looking horizontally through the dome of the Clark's, it looks much clearer though. I'll know more when I swap them out.

I have looked at a few MBW/MBKs, but it seems the new style of them really isn't any better. J

Seems like a great way to get a case and the excellent bracelet - it just so happens to have a movement in it. If that is a dud.. so what! My style of mod project... CHEAP! magnus
Nanuq.. you were spot on !! This is a cheapo .. wholesale outlet insert.. but it did the trick .. the original rep insert was conical.. Ok so at least we know the specs for the bezel and crystal size are correct ... this is the same insert that fits the same in my MBK.. Where did you get the Bezelinsert?
