mbjoer
I have seen that Puretime has a black ceramic Submariner: http://puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=1728 Is there a gen version of that yet? And how accurate is this one then??
clkcadet
No gen version, but it does look awesome imho. IF a SS ceramic comes out at Basel this year, the rep is pretty much good to go. My opinion is that it wont have the PCLs though (of course a simple mod)
lanikai
I think the gen is scheduled for release this year.
fakemaster
To the average guy it will just look like a Sub. The gen will be along shortly so I say get it.
thogaa
I think the gen is scheduled for release this year. That must make the gen a rep of the rep? What's with the serial on rehaut engraving?
seraphe
My opinion is that it wont have the PCLs though (of course a simple mod) I've a feeling it won't have PCLs too, but I also think the brushed mid links will be hollow rather than solid, just like the DSSD. polaris
If you want the ceramic sub, look at the asian 2836 instead. Looks like the same thing except the regular asian movement (excepting the so called 316F steel ) and you save $100 As others have said the gen may continue with hollow midlinks and brushed center links, but the rep can be brushed and I'd center links: no one will see. Good watch even if its just for the glidelock clasp. Comfy! As for visual accuracy, there are a few but for ~$200 its a good rep, cant better it unless you spend x3 that, and you won't have the ceramic bezel. OmegaRed
Mine is out for delivery as of this morning. So that means I will get it Friday afternoon. I'm known as OmegaRed on RepGeek so I'll post review here and there. The gen will be released at Basel World 2010. The center link will be brushed. I'm not sure about it being hollow. To be honest the polished solid like looks much more posh and is more substantial. Here is a quick list of the tells: 1. Poor lume (Markers glow more than hands) 2. ``R`` in the rehaut engraving does not align to 9 oclock position 3. The laser etched coronette at 6 oclock position is not suppose to be there 4. The clasp is engraved instead of being etched in black 5. SEL is no ``one piece`on the back side 6. No AR on cyclops 7. Slight difference in the pearl. 1watching2
Looks like a great watch. I really like the larger size to it. There is also a correct clasp version. Which one is correct? Who knows.
mbjoer
Now another question is, how many versions are there out there? I have seen 4: Puretime a3135 $328 Puretime a2836 $228 ASIAN7750 a2836 $188 and Watchwoot a 21j $99 I guess that the last 3 are all the same. But are they? fakemaster
There will be 1000 neverending versions. And since gen owners in 'the real world' change stuff all the time, get what clasp you like. Put it on rubber, put it on leather, put it on steel. It doesn't matter because you have zero chance of getting called out.

krpster
Just got mine yesterday. Sorry no pics...same as above. I picked it up second hand (but mint) as it seemed like a good deal and thought I should try out a sub. Well I have to say that I love the feel of the sub. What a classy piece. Only thing for me is the crappy pearl. Gonna hit WM later tonight to order up a new one. Anyone have any pointers for replacing a pearl on a ceramic bezel? WatchnRoll
Here's a question... I have a gen Seadweller...i'd love to have a ceramic insert...would a rep ceramic insert fit my gen?
fakemaster
The metal and ceramic insert pearls are not the same.
