Bazz
I decided to try some different shots of my 1665 for a change.... I like the way they are a bit more dynamic, I think they came out OK for a muck about.
Quarks
WOW. Wonderful pics. May I ask what camera are u using? I never thought of asking anyone this question but your pics begged me to.
Jetsons
Bazz, those are some awesome photos. I would also be interested in the camera you're using but I'm sure it has a lot more to do with the photogarapher than the gear. Beautiful 1665 as well & obviously water tight! Thanks for sharing. Ozzy
Lovely photos. My cam would be too slow for that kinda stuff, takes about 2 seconds for it to register that you have clicked the button. :\
leitztozeiss
Nice pics Bazz!! Curious, did you waterproof the He valve?
kingkitesurf
He valve on the MBW is fake... If you polish the case to hard it wil have no valve at all....
leitztozeiss
He valve on the MBW is fake... If you polish the case to hard it wil have no valve at all.... I know it's fake. So, the hole doesn't go all the way through? This has been one of those unanswered questions from way back. I've had answers both ways. Some have gone so far as to plug what they have identified as a hole along the inside of the case. So, which is it?
Bazz
Thanks guys, the camera I used is a canon 350d which I just set to its fastest shutter speed then snapped away while pouring water on it . As for the He valve, I did have a look at it from the inside when I had apart and I couldnt see anything to suggest that it went all the way through the case on my one. leitztozeiss
My MBW 1665 from ca. 10 years ago has the "HE valve" hole all the way thru the case, with a pin that fits in. The pin has a beveled sealing surface that fits a parallel/identical bevel cut into the case, and there's a dished spring on the inside holding everything pressed tight together. It absolutely REFUSES to leak. Finally, a perfect description. Thank you Nanuq. While my 1665 is apart, I'm having Tommy look into what can be done to keep it water tight - like maybe sticking a blob of epoxy on it or something. SubFrog
Nice pics. I remember when I first bought my Olympus digital and took pictures of a dripping Absinthe Fountain...it was cool. Just like these pictures. I gotta get back to my camera and do some fun stuff like this.
Bazz
OK... just pulled my SD apart to double check the HE valve and can can confirm mine does not go all the way through. I bought it from mbw about a year ago so maybe they changed the case design over time? Its pretty well water proof with gen crown and tube, crystal and siliconed the seals but yet to put a gasket in the crystal compression ring. Thanks for the nice comments was pretty easy and I was surprised how good some turned out
ubiquitous
Excellent pics, Bazz! I think my favorite is this one: As for the He Valve... I could have sworn mine went all the way through as well. I'll have another look here soon when I pull it all apart to test a new mod in the near future
Edge
Ubi, These shots look like they were taken in your famous marble Bathroom lol.
ubiquitous
Hmmmm... Perhaps that's why I like that pic so much? Maybe Bazz has the same granite surface in his house somewhere?
munk
Do you use flash or just the bathroom lights?
Bazz
Yea Ubi I like that one the most also... new mod ay.... think I maybe interested Do you use flash or just the bathroom lights? I used both as at really fast shutter speeds the hardest part is getting enough light in for a good exposure
Bazz
Hey Ubi, just a quick one, did the 1665 have the silver date wheels? I always thought they were more of a 1680 thing?
