hiker01
Hope everyone had a Great VD! and for those with a Dirty Mind like myself, I mean Valentines Day! Now I hope you got lucky, too! I've always been infatuated with watches that has something blue in them and it started with the Blue Two Tone Sub..... The First REPs I ordered have something blue in them: A Blue Dialed Breitling Navi: and a PAM253 with the Blue 2nd Hand on a Blue Elephant Skin: So when the Blue IWC Costeau 2006 came out, it was a no brainer for me.....gotta have that one: This PAM came next (my special thanks to Hackr and Stormtooper4!), notice the blue indices?: and then this APROO Blue Navy came knockin...... And now to our subject matter at hand, the Rolex Submariner Maxi Everything Blue Cerachrome 116619 in WHite Gold, introduced in Basel 2008. The first REP that came out was almost tempting for me and I almost bought it last December 2009, but I was told by my dealer to wait because it is coming out in 316F SS.....which I was hoping will be as close to white gold in finish and sheen as I can compare in Pictures, although I can't really tell. On to the comparison and a little Review, or IMHO as they say. This is the New 316F SS Version with the Swiss ETA2836-2 (Verified by WatchSmith) option! The Real Thing: My Thing: Gen: REP: The Blue color, depending on the lighting conditions, changes from a light blue to dark blue...on the REP anyway. Here's a series of bright sunlight shots and diffused: One thing I love about this new SUB is the CG.....now the REP is almost dead-on, I say almost...from what I can see: GEN: REP: SAme with the Bezel, the Insert and the End Links: GEN: REP next 3 pictures: On close-up, the GEN crystal is rounded and the REP is the standard Beveled crystal that is on most newer model REPs. and check the Pearl, and engravings on the rehaut and bezel, looks good I might say: Now the bracelet, and I'll say very close: Gen: REP: The Glidelock, and this is where my only disappoinment is, when I took out a link from the glidelock side, I found out that the screw was frozen in place and I broke the inner link trying to force the screw out, Gorrilla Glue to the rescue! Lesson learned??? Apply your "White Lightning Pro LUbe" before you work with the links! GEN: REP: Shot out-of-the-box before clean-up! and after: The Lume....could use some work, but good enough out of the Box. GEN compared with a YatchMaster: REP: First round: about 5 secs later: Another try, this taken just before I close the Dark Room: and door closed: Well, that was fun. I love this Sub! I had all the rubber O-rings greased and had my watchsmith pressure test it and it passed 10ATM! Good enough for me. My rating from 1-10, 10 being : Case - 10 Bezel + Insert + Pearl - 9 Color - 9 Build - 9 Bracelet - 8 Glidelock - 6 Overall Score = 8.5 Timing Accuracy: So far it gained 30 secs since Last Monday......7 days! Here's some porn: and some wristie: You think it would go nice with the Blue Bimmer??? Thanks for reading folks! Have a great week!

TeeJay
I have to admit, the watch itself has never struck me as my cup of tea, but that's some awesome photography, and a fine review Crazy thing is cerulean is my favorite shade
jmb
I'll have to admit that this particular shade of blue (I love the color of your TT) would not be on my "favorites list" but this looks very nice - I'd wear it! Good "shooting", F!
rek001
Superb photos and review sir. However, I think the blue is just too bright, even in its darkest state, compared to the gen. What matters is that you like it, enjoy.

indyberetta
Great review! I have one of these and they are very close to the gen! My buddy works at my local AD and I had to tell him mine was a rep. He could not tell otherwise (of course he is not as anal as most of the rep collectors! lol) The blue is very, very close. It is hard to capture the color in pics, but it changes as does the gen! Enjoy...and yes I am into the blue theme too...with my Z06 Vette and all of my blue watches! krpster
Very nice review. Great pictures. When I started out into reps, rollies for me were...meh! Then, on a whim, I got one of the cerachromes (in black) and WOW! Lovin it! Your pearl looks better than mine though. I'm working on it Thanks for sharing. im2
Bump.... sry... But could you upload the pictures again? Seems like imageshack has deleted them.. And imo they are very very useful. I love the gen blue color, thus repdealers darker pics have prevented me from buying it yet..
