Peter52
Yesterday i saw a watch on the teleshopping channel that looked 95% like a Breitling Navitimer, apart from the Breitling logo. But apart from the logo, it was really 100% like a navitimer. And it was about 250$ [e] oh yeah....quartz of course Edited February 24, 2010 by Peter52

mastrmindalliance
Yeah, apparently Sinn bought the "navitimer" rights when Brietling went bankrupt. Here's a nice looking one

Bike Mike
what???? Breitling went bankrupt? Not recently. Back in the lat 70's. In 1979 Ernest Schneider, a pilot and watch nut like most of us, took over control of Breitling from the founder's Grandson, Willy Breitling. OSRep
"in the 70s, due to the quartz revolution, most mechanical watch manufacturers were forced to close down. Former Leon Breitling Company was no exception. Mr. Wajs bought up much of the Breitling company's stock for the aviation models such as the Navitimer. Mr Wajs began producing Aviation watches using Breitling cases and the same calibre movements used in Breitling watches. These Aviation watches are now prized amongst collectors. When Breitling was liquidated, Mr Wajs bought most of the parts, machines and designs. The parts between the Breitling and Aviation series are interchangeable. And that is why Aviation watches are identical in terms of size, case, dial, hands and movements to the original Breitling produced before 1980" Aviation
