ubiquitous Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 I like it!! Very worn, weathered look to it, like it's seen quite a lot of combat Would love to see a more 'head-on' pic showing the dial
eddhead Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 I like it!! Very worn, weathered look to it, like it's seen quite a lot of combat Would love to see a more 'head-on' pic showing the dial i agree.. it looks like a watch one would gett passed down from one's grandfather!
lionsandtigers Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 very cool, think i need to get a duplicate of one of my current watches so i can do that to it dont have the nerve to do it to one from my current line-up. Lets see some pics headon :)
oswald Posted September 8, 2006 Author Report Posted September 8, 2006 I sterilized the whole thing save the marks on the caseback and the "reg tm" It started out as as a super cheap fiddy.
V Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 Beautiful... One of the best custom vintage jobs I have seen
slay Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 that looks very good, really! I especialy like the look of the movement
leitztozeiss Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Very nice. Curious, where did you find the dial with no subseconds? Also, may I know the crystal diameter? Was there a compression gasket or ring between the bezel ring and the crystal?
oswald Posted September 9, 2006 Author Report Posted September 9, 2006 Very nice. Curious, where did you find the dial with no subseconds? Also, may I know the crystal diameter? Was there a compression gasket or ring between the bezel ring and the crystal? The front crystal is 1.59" and the back is 1.4". Both had compression gaskets. For the dial I filled in the seconds cutouts and trimmed the seconds pin from the gear and flipped the dial to make it a destro. The cheapo reps make excellent fodder for vintage mods! I have a Molinja mov't I may put in it, or something a bit more "special". Thanks for the input!
ehtolcad Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 are you going to leave the reg tm on the back of the cg, or are you gonna grind that off? looks very cool btw
oswald Posted September 9, 2006 Author Report Posted September 9, 2006 Not sure... What do you think?
Finepics Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Very nice indeed - remove the REG TM - you have the skills to do it I know!!!!
madasboot Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 This baby would deserve a "Brev. Ital." CG...
flavor flav Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 that looks like a "fun" mod! just rub it on concrete, sandpaper, steel wool and whatever else destructive you can find! looks cool! i think i'll make one too
ehtolcad Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 i'd say take it off. and if you can get that brev ital engraved on there it would be the business!
dadog13 Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 really good looking...wear it well!
fitmic Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 The more I look at it, the more I want to do something similair.
