JewelryandWatch or Yuki for 6263 Project

Dear Members.

I know that this topic has been discussed before, please forgive the inquiry.

Nonetheless, I wanted to get your experience/opinion on which source you'd consider to have the better quality 6263 case, hands, etc.

I recently purchased a gen 6263 dial, gen bezel and gen Tropic 21 crystal and want to put together the perfect project. Thank you in advance.

Were it me, I would go with a DW caseset (to supplement whatever gen parts you are lacking) & gen bracelet. There is a huge number of threads devoted to DW Daytona projects that I would encourage you to search out, as well as researching the gen you are interested in.

i have found a donor. only thing is i am really starting to like it to much to strip out the movement. i wonder if there might be a better route

It's entirely up to you, of course, but please consider finding a donor other than that Carrera. I have to believe there are still ugly or unremarkable VJ72 chronographs out there. Spare the Heuer!

I would think you could get another donor for a price less than the value of the Carrera.

I recently did an about-face with my 1680 project because of a Yuki case; specs were way off and some of my gen parts were not compatible.

Gorgeous though that carrera might be, I bet it's 35mm and therefore far too small to be worn. For display purposes only.
