watcher
Here are a few more pics of my latest purchase! A 5.5mil 1655 in original untouched condition from the first and only owner! Not a model I like too much before but it is growing on me as I wear it. The patina is wonderful and I have no desire to change it and spoil 30 years of care! It has a hacking non quickset 1570 inside in beautiful clean condition! Silver DW and 2 oyster bands. The origanl has a broken clasp and was replaced in 1992. To actually have my hands on a genuine vintage Rolex of such importance is quite humbling!! I do unfortunately have to sell this as that was the reason for buying her! but I will enjoy wearing this beauty until that day comes!! Enjoy the pics my friends! alligoat
It's a beautiful watch! I just wish I didn't want to fix the lume on the seconds hand and in-paint the bezel numbers w/ black! BTW, I would date it to around 1978 w/ the 5.5m SN. Does your paperwork say earlier?

watcher
The paperwork dates the watch being sold in October 1981 so I guess it sat a while. These were not very popular unlike now! Cheers!
krpster
What a beauty! Love the 1655. A nice example you have there with great "character". Wear it well while you have it.
UT Horn
I love to see such a beautiful watch like that with great wear marks. This baby didn't just sit in a box.
pr0digy30
Beautiful, nicely aged too. Care to share what it set you back?
watcher
No! But thanks for the compliments. Sadly it is getting a gentle refurbishment shortly In the way of a case polish plus new 116 tropic and bezel numbers repainted.
