I think they've got something here. A nice small, light form factor. For $999.00 it's a solid piece of portable technology. I think I really like it!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I really like it-- except for the glossy screen. (This is becoming an industry wide cancer. Glossy screens are the computer equivalent to chrome bumpers on cars-- pretty in the showroom, or nice for photo/video presentation in a room with controlled lighting).

Finally, the product I have wanted since 2008. I might actually get this and retire my eeePC netbook finally. I might have to live with the damn glossy screen.

Bootcamp it, or VMWare it, and it will probably do most of what I need in a mobile package.

Agreed on the glossy screen. My MBP 15" has the anti-glare HD screen, and I love it!!! It's the best looking laptop screen I've seen to date, and I have a really, really hard time going back to the glossy screen of my girlfriends Macbook. Sure they make the blacks look better (in a dark room), but the glossy screen is so annoying in well lit rooms.

It looks fantastic! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Being a Mac household...we're into anything Apple! The glossy screens are a tad annoying, but it's a small price to pay for something that really performs and looks that HOT! :good:

Is the screen 11.6"? That would be a perfect size. Apple finally makes something to replace my IBM x61.

Yup. They make a 13.3 and 11.6 now! :thumbsupsmileyanim: And with a flash drive, it's silent :D

I heard it described as an iPad with a keyboard and trackpad. Sounds wonderful.

Except the iPad is a crippled web device thumbdown.gif .

This baby runs full OS-X, and with BootCamp, Parallels, or VMWare -- ANY Operating system. I am most likely going to get one, and see if it can handle all of my VMWare's, (Win XP, Win 7, Ubuntu 10, BackTrack, Knoppix, etc)....

I just looked it up. If I have it right than holy cow. It looks like Ipad meets Netbook on Steroids. If it starts up in like 15 seconds, can do everything a real computer can including all the Office stuff and has big battery life it will certainly fit a need - mine. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Couldn't agree more. This will be the perfect "couch potato" laptop. Light, efficient, cool running :D

I just played around with one at Best Buy. It took every ounce of self-restraint I had to walk away. The 11" and 13" are both amazing. Totally booted up in less than ten seconds. I may go back and get one tomorrow. I was gonna hold out for the next gen of the iPad, but this does EVERYTHING.

Let us know if you end up buying one Virgil. It would be great to get a forum member review of this little bad boy :D

Go for it.This is a selfish request but I am dying to know if it is as good as it looks. :D

The First Air was ridiculously overpriced, but this thing is in that 'sweet spot' price point, I think they hit an absolute winner by reducing the price and adding SSD. I'll take the 13.3 inch in 256 Gb :o)

OMG... I want one! I just played with one at the Apple Store and it is amazing! So light and runs so cool. Nice change from my aluminum Macbook Pro (which gets damn hot!)
