vlydog
Has anyone successfully installed a Gen 1665 bezel assembly on a MBW case? Thanks
freddy333
Yup. All gen except for the mid-case (old MBW), superdome (Clarks) & dial
vlydog
Thanks freddy! I have the bug to take my, circa 2006 MBW 1665 to the next level. I recently had the HEV modded so now I was hoping to find and install a gen bezel assembly.
Dizzy
ok... stupid question.. Whats wrong with the MBW bezel?? What about it is incorrect? Im comparing my MBW to gen and i cant see anything obvious.. unless the lower bevel angles are off? Or the overall height? lol Dizz
vlydog
ok... stupid question.. Whats wrong with the MBW bezel?? that is exactly why I started this post. Thank you for your opinion diz! I am not sure that upgrading will yield the necessary gratification. I have been happy with it all along. I just can't help myself sometimes; trying to improve my pieces with gen parts.
HauteHippie
Yup. All gen except for the mid-case (old MBW), superdome (Clarks) & dial Dial doesn't look gen? Or am I losing it (or perhaps never had it)...

It's one of those things, IMO, where if you found a gen bezel and had the spare cash -- go for it. But if it were me, I wouldn't be actively hunting for the gen bezel. Your watch looks great as is. It's not going to be a big bang for the buck upgrade, and the midcase is still not quite right anyhow. Dial doesn't look gen? Or am I losing it (or perhaps never had it)... Ooops... you already mentioned the dial. Nevermind. I am losing it!!
panerai153
This is digressing from the original topic of your bezel question, but what is your HEV mod? I tried to ask this question in the form of a PM, but your mailbox must be full.
vlydog
For my case, it was a cosmetic modification rather than an installation of a fully funtioning HEV. My case was drilled out and a valve was machined and installed by the one and only Zigmeister.
freddy333
ok... stupid question.. Whats wrong with the MBW bezel?? Nothing until/unless you try to install a gen insert. Options are to mod & cement or swap the bezel for a gen (which fits the old (4+ years) MBW perfectly This is digressing from the original topic of your bezel question, but what is your HEV mod? cib0rgman
I was under the impression that a gen insert will fit just fine on the MBW Bezel.
Dizzy
I always cement them in anyways just to be sure its not going to pop out. Just a little added insurance.
cib0rgman
In have had mine for almost two years no glue whatsoever snap to the bezel and no mod to the insert at all.
Cats
Got a gen insert in one of my MBW's also , and used a little glue to secure the insert from failing out. Yes they do fit properly. Carpe Diem Cats
