Stephane
Hi all, Recently I was in NYC and paid a visit to the Omega store. I was curious about that Liquid Metal Super Limited Edition Planet Ocean I passed my Sub to the guy and he passed that Liquid metal to me... My impression was that it was a very small watch and not impressive at all Anybody else tried it? What you think? Worth the price? Would you buy/wear it? Cheers Stephane
Utheman
What, no pictures? Looks nice in the ads but I'd also like to get a feel for its size. If you say it's too small, that's good enough for me. Thanks
Stephane
Sorry for not taking pictures But, as you know, it's not easy to say "hey, wait I want photos!". No, honestly, that watch is way too small. I mean, a Sub is what it is but it feels much better than the liquid. And I am not a fan of the Fiddy... The Liquid feels like "hmmm, great size and weight for my lady". More like a DateJust, even if the Liquid is taller.
redwatch
There is a new Omega AD here in Los Angeles at a local mall and I asked to see the Liquid Metal. "Oh, sorry sir. That watch is only being made in very limited numbers and we do not have one in at the moment. We would be happy to order one for you." Limited Numbers? As limited as the Official Omega AD's??? I don't think I have ever seen an Omega only store before (not that I am an expert by any means!) It sure looks nice in the pictures though! Too bad it was so underwhelming. dbutlerman
Hi Red - There are several Omega Boutiques that sell only Omega's. I went to the one on 5th Ave. in NYC. It was pretty cool. Omegas as far as the eye could see. I am not sure how they'd stay in business though....
redwatch
I am not sure how they'd stay in business though.... I was wondering the exact same thing. There were 5 sales staff in the store and I was the only shopper. A lot of Omega's (and a whole lot of really hideous, over the top, blingy ones!) chefcook
The liquid metal is not worth the premium over the standard planet ocean. The glossy dial makes the watch look cheap IMO.

danza1812
Im not sure how you say it's too small, you state you wear a sub which is 39mm, liquidmetal is 42mm I think the 42 mm po's look small as they are quite thick at14.5mm. But let's be honest 42mm isn't a small watch.

They didn't have one then but the guy mentioned he had one coming but it was already spoken for.... Also they didn't have any brochures........in english. He gave me the russian version lol So I went across the street to Wempe and got a good look at the blue WG sub-c (116619LB) Edited December 10, 2010 by ianGP
magagne
The glossy dial makes the watch look cheap IMO. ...but Rolex Sub and SeaDweller look cheap to you too? LOL! [just joking, don't jump on it too seriously]

But let's be honest 42mm isn't a small watch. I'm not saying it IS small. Just saying it FEELS and looks small. Oh and I agree that the glossy dial and insert makes it look cheap too. Same with the ceramic sub by the way. I can't get used to it.
