Goofing around with a 1680 dial on a cold day

I Believe that Stefano had a blog of a 1680 dial with no hash marks, but I can't locate it just right now...oh well something to do on a cold Canadian day! I still have to clear up the residue a bit.

Very nice, and very even. How did you do it? I also saw that dial on jakes rolex blog. Its a pretty rare dial, and visually, it makes a big difference compared to a regular dial.

comeon fxr that would be the Holy Grail of mods!

Upon further examination of the Jake Blog pics, that dial looks like it has a satin finish...so I took the rest of the markers off my dial and then gave it a quick shot of clear satin finish...

The only problem is that I goofed and I tried to wipe a drop of varnish off...taking some print off. Oh Well!!!

Stefano's blog entry for the red sub in question is here (replace xx with tt)

hxxp://stefanomazzariol.blogspot.com/search/label/the%20first%20model

In his blog in the entry called "the first model"

Apparently this watch had a prototype dial that somehow made it out of Rolex's hands.
