Where's a good place to buy cobalt bits online?

Hey everyone,

I need to buy some drill bits for stainless steel... 1mm, 1.3mm, 1.6mm, 2.65mm etc. All the local stores only have a couple of small sizes, none of which are correct. I tried looking online for snapon, but I can only find sets of bits.

Can anyone recommend an online seller who can suppy these sizes?

cheers

Diz,

If you are in the USA, I would recommend Snap On. i bought some from them a few years ago and they are really nice. there has to be a reason that almost every really good mechanic i know has a tool chest full of Snap On tools.

There are a number of specialist cobalt drill bit ebay shops. I have used 2 of them who stock all sizes and you can buy singles or multi packs. Obviously, go to a specialist seller/producer source and avoid the 'cheap chinese counterfeits' ha ha ha.....:whistling:

Heres an example, but I do not know where you is based.......

Ive bought mine exclusively from an ebay seller that sells all size ranges. they are tungsten carbide and have had great results, they are sharp and typically last me around 5 holes per bit (some 3 but the angle may have been slightly off causing it to bend) the size I buy is 1.25mm and its perfect! the bits also come with a 1/8 shank for maximum stability in the chuck, no slipping. price per bit with shipping i believe IS under $2. i cant find the seller or the listings as of now but they have consistently sold them

Thanks guys I will check those out. I looked on the snapon website before and couldnt find any individual bits. maybe I'll have to go find a snapon truck and see what he has.

I am in Canada. We have snapon up here obviously but it will for some reason be more expensive here.

I use McMaster-Carr McMaster-Carr .com. I have one of their locations 2 miles away so I pick up at will call, but they do ship. They have locations in Atlanta, Chicago (Elmhurst Il.), Cleveland, Los Angeles, and New Jersey. Their prices are very reasonable, and they have many tools and supplies we use for our hobby. I paid $2.16 ea for the 1mm cobalt bit, and $2.22 ea. for the 1.3mm cobalt. Their service is very good, and they guarantee and take returns.
