Yeah I would do something cool with that 3135.

I wouldn't build a franken 16610. i would do a 16800 or something. I would look for a gen 16610. 16600 or 16660 Sea-dweller with a rusted out movement and buy it for parts. Then swap in your nice 3135 and have a full gen. Thats an expensive movement, it needs a nice home.

Might also be neat to see a 16800 with matte dial...

I've seen a 3035 in a noobmariner case and a couple of weeks ago I saw where someone had fitted a 3035 movement in a 16610 case- don't know how they did it. But the 3135 most closely approximates the 2824-2 movement, so anything that takes a 2824-2 could probably take a 3135. Unfortunately rep maker typically use the 2836 and dg2813 and not the 2824.

I'd stick with trying to find a WM9 V3 case or the WM9 YM which took the 2824-2 movement. Or you could do like the asians do and stick it in an aftermarket gold case and build a gold DJ for 1/2 price. BKLM1234 would be another person to talk to.

That is an odd one... 3035 in a 16610 case?

I was thinking it would be neat to do a 16800 with a WM9 case and matte dial... Nice thing about the 3035 and 3135 is that the dials swap freely between the two. Though I suppose the rehaut might be a bit tall for a 16800...

Thanks for the ideas guys - I think i really want to get a basic 16610 going here.

Wish the v3 was still around - I put a deposit down for BK's new Sub but think that case may not entertain a genuine movment -may have to a spacer but that would make the datewheel / magnifying glass not work well.

hmmm - what other ways can I make this work?

Thanks for all the help guys.

Seems like there have been a few v3's on the sales forum lately. I would post a WTB on all the rep forums. Seems sort of sad to do a 16610 instead of a matte dial 16800. i just sold my WM9/BK 16610 and bought a very nice genuine "P" serial ( year 2000) 16610 for 3200.00 USD. All the nice matte dial 16800's are selling for 5k + on the VRF, so a much more desirable watch. The later 16800's with gloss dial and WG surrounds are much cheaper. I was offered one for 2800.00 USD less bracelet.

Good luck with your build, no matter what you decide.
