cib0rgman Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Does anybody knows if there is a transitional 1675 to 16750,??
HauteHippie Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Well, there's a 16750 with matte dial and no metal borders around the markers. 16750 with MK1 dial is a winner IMO! There's also the gloss dial with tritium markers and metal surrounds, but the earlier dial is much more desirable IMO:
panerai153 Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Not sure you could call it a transition, but as chief stated, the matte dial, no surround "Oyster Perprtual" vs "Oyster Perpetual Date" could be considered either a transitional or a case of Rolex using up a bunch of 1675 dials that were still around when the 16750 was introduced.1n 1979. From what i can research, the matte dial w/o surrounds was not offered for very long, as other watches in 1980-81 were appearing with the White gold surrounds on the indices.

I believe I've read they were offered between 6M and 8M serials... for a brief period, but they're definitely out there.
Nanuq Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 There's one more transitional piece, the "radial" dial. It has smaller, more inset dots, as if Rolex was preparing to add the gold surrounds... but didn't quite get around to it. It's matte as well and very rare.
cib0rgman Posted February 7, 2011 Author Report Posted February 7, 2011 Good Stuff Guys. Thanks a bunch for the info. maybe I can built a combo 1675 -16750 with the 1655 that I have.
