A Couple of Bastards

I've got a couple of watches I cannot identify - a Comex and a No Date Sub.

Both have Swiss 2836

Both have gen style bezel assembly's

Both have 2mm lugs

Both have Registered Design between the lugs

I have MBW versions of each and these don't look the same to me

I never bought one of the MBW Cartel copies so these aren't them either

The Chinese vintage Rollies had weird bezel assemblies - these are just like the MBWs

I'm going to let them go cheap (if I cannot identify them), but it would help if I knew what they are, and what they are worth.

If someone wants one of them, email me at TJGladeRaider@aol.com

I also notice that the bracelet on the 5512 is the solid link like the MBW - and it fits perfect. Even with the Rollie springbars, it installs instantly and fits perfectly. Both are identical with 455B end links.

I always thought the 5512 was an MBW, but it doesn't look like the one on the left.

Somebody straighten me out here please.

I would guess somewhere around 60-70 bucks each, . I am interested in the 5512 case!

I've been trying to let go of MBWs I have duplicates of. If it turns out that I have two different MBW versions of the no date sub, I'm not going to be anxious to sell it.

This is the bezzel assembly common to both.

This first pic is from the official Rolex web site of the military 5513. The hands aren't right, but the text says they are extremely rare so I guess they used the hands they had.

The second is the standard 5513 from the Rolex site.

The third is the guilt dial version from the Rolex site (they used someone else's picture) - I think that's this dial because the lettering (all of it) is yellow, not white like every other MBW I have here. Also, now that I see the word, I remember that it was suggested that a get a guilt dial in something so I guess this was it.

So, my guess is MBW guilt dial 5513 with a military style bezel that I put on it.

That would explain that watch. I'd sure welcome a bonafide WIS opinion though.

more pics are needed, the 5512 doesnt seem to have the same beveling as the traditional mbk.

retaining ring and caseback looks a bit different as well.

dial doesnt look mbk either.

this could all be due to the pictures not showing the details correctly.

watch looks modded too, so its harder to tell for sure.

Now, to even more confuse me, I found a picture of a 5512 gilt dial.

What is the difference between a 5512 and a 5513?

Anyway, this looks like the dial.

So maybe it's an MBW 5512 gilt dial with the military bezel I put on it.

This nonsense is soooooo confusing.

Bill

I don't think that's a 5512 dial, it's a 5513. The only 2 line 5512 dials I've seen have an outer minute track, not ticks, and an "exclamation point" 6 marker. It would also just say "SWISS" at the bottom, not Swiss T < 25

.

The real difference between 12's and 13's are the 12's are Officially Certified Chronometers, and hence where more expensive than the 5513. Same case, and hardware though.

No seriously - I'm not teasing you guys. I've just been away from watches for a long time, and I've gotten a bit confused about what I've got here.

Besides, aren't you the one I priced the gilt 5512 to cheap, before I figured out what it was?

LOLLLLLLL

Bill

You did price the gilt 5513 and I hope that was not a "cheap" price as honestly you were about 58% higher than another 5513 that I am planning on getting. You are free to do as you please and I wish you luck on all your sales........... and also am a little jealous of your stash.

I just went back and looked - I priced it to you last night once I had figured out what it was.

I priced it to someone a few days ago very cheap.
