A Date... Plus a Day?

Tanks, fellers!

red, LHOOQ, coolfire- I have to admit that I rather enjoy the look of the champagne day/date wheels with this dial combo. gives the watch a somewhat 'warm' feel to the appearance. I would almost equate it to a similar effect that lightly patina'd tritium markers would cast on a black matte dial.

Diz- For setting the day and date, it's really not so bad :) I use the pseudo quick method of setting the hands to flip the date once and then rotate the hands back in reverse past 6 (18:00) and roll forward again past 12 (0:00). The date will change over again without having to do the full 24 hour cycle of hands to flip to the next date. The same method applies for the day except in reverse.

Zelini- I would have to say that if the subject in your avatar is yours, then you have something far more precious and valuable than any watch could ever compare ;)

I'm giving this old thread a bump.

As some may remember, dvn recently put up this beautiful black Daydate for sale. I came back and looked at it constantly. We exchanged PMs but I resisted the urge for only 1 reason. I am looking for the white dial version with a foreign day wheel. It's calling out to me! Strange, but I am sure you've all been there.

I've considered buying a gen Tudor which are relatively inexpensive And swapping out the day wheel for maybe a German or Spanish day wheel.

Any ideas to get me started?

Thanks

Usually, this Rolex is really not my favourite. But I must admit that the white is... so pure ! It' beautiful. And your pics give the best of it. And with the leather strap, it's so elegant !

Congratulation !

Hi Ubi.. I'm sorry to drag up such an old thread but hubba hubba I want! I was wondering tho, what mods did you have to make to the steel case? I'd love to put together something like this and have access to the main parts I'd need... assembly is the killer tho cos I'd have to find and pay someone.

Great looking watch and really well done :)

Oops I missed page 2... the thread got bumped a month ago :) LOVE LOVE the white Ubi, the watch looks stunning. Well done!
