6538 strap suggestion?

I've only seen 6583s mounted on Bond NATOs or rivet bracelets so I'm wondering how to pair it with a nice protein based strap. My assumption is that something smooth like ammo (maybe the Ted Su below?) would work better than an exotic skin but am really curious about your experiences and suggestions. The other thing, of course, would be what color leather and stitching to tie with the gilt dial and hands.

My generic answer to everything is a dark brown croc strap- DBCS,

My 5508 is on a DBCS also

As well as this old CN 16610 rep

And the 1016 too

So I guess you can see a pattern here... I might have a problem!

You certainly got your point across, especially with the 5508 since the look is really close to the 6538. I'm really liking it on the Pepsi.

Centaur, Look at a Hirsch Liberty which is saddle leather w/ off white stitching, they come in tan,med brn & dark brn...They will serve your Sub beautifully.....Alligoat, I too like the dark croc yet the off white stitch is stunning especially if it's hand stitched!

Some member here has a vintage piece on a black stingray. It looks very good in deed.

And if they weren't so damn endangered I'd love a great White strap for my great White, but the moral and ethical cost is far to much for me to consider this.
