opti
Got this Sinn a month or so ago, happy with it and all, but true to form, no rep is every perfect. While I noticed this from the start it didnt mother me too much, but is there a way to get this fixed easily? Would the crystal have to be removed and pressed again? Or does it simply need a little more of a nudge in?
offshore
You will know after you give it a bit more of a nudge! O/S
opti
never done anything with the crystals, so I don't want to smash it (if that's possible) Im guessing Im gonna need a press to tuck that side in eh?
plaifender
Depends on the fit. With my UPO for example.. I don't need a crystal press to fit it evenly.. just use my thumb or palm and a microbiber cloth. The crystal won't break, I'm sure. Use your thumb or the palm of your hand and it should be fine. I've even used a pin hammer (the plastic side obviously) wrapped in microfiber to hammer a crystal side in gently.
opti
I was going to ask as a joke if I should hammer it in LOL, seems its possible, in a gentle sort of way
Nanuq
The best crystal press of all...
freddy333
Do not use a hammer or bang on the watch. Personally, I would leave it alone. But if it really bothers you, you can try GENTLY....repeat GENTLY....pressing the edge down using a rubber-jawed hobby vice (Sears sells them). Otherwise, you need a crystal press. The fly in the ointment is that it could be that the rep was designed that way or the gasket is jammed below the bottom of the crystal. In either case, pressing the crystal runs the risk of damaging it.
Nanuq
Let's see a picture of that watch face on, and let us know where you got it? Some of us have a serious Jones for watches with red/orange on the dial and bezel.
opti
Tried sort of pushing down on it, and its not gonna happen, this suckers gonna need to be pressed. Got it from josh. cougaree
I have had a watch like that. I used my friend's crystal press without opening of the case.

HauteHippie
One thing for sure, you can not fix that slight crookedness by pressing with one of the cheapo crystal presses. Believe me. Sometimes I have to pop a crystal out and repress a few times with a slight offset under the press to get it to seat evenly. It can be rather frustrating. As mentioned above, I'd leave this one alone too, unless you want to pop it out and try to press it in, potentially several times to get it right. Now I have never used a good press, like a Horotec. But hopefully a good press wouldn't have this issue. I'd hate to spend the ~200 on one to find that it does.
opti
Thanks for the advice chief, you are a specialist in these matters. Ill leave it alone, or send it off tome someone who knows what they are doing. I have greased all the gaskets and taken it in the showere without problems, havent had a swim yet thou. The crystal is in there pretty damn tight, I think it should be good for a swim, maybe not dive.
HauteHippie
Generally after you remove the crystal, if you expect water tightness, you want to replace the gasket. You can reuse the existing gasket and get lucky sometimes though.

Niqlndym
Just lift up on the bezel on that side, so it matches the crystal. Problem solved!
