Who says you can't use a phone?

Recommended Posts

Back when I wrote my photo tutorials, I said don't use a phone to take photos. Times have changed so I wanted to see what sort of quality you can get with an iPhone and a light tent. I think the answer is "as good as a point-and-shoot" now.

A lot depends on the artist too. Here's what my daughter can do with my cheap point and shoot. Took her 2 seconds to turn, compose and click. :notworthy:

Agreed - my wife is the same way. I can't compose a shot for my life - but the woman has mad skills :) This was taken with a Digital SLR but it was in Auto mode...does that count as Point and Shoot?

Camera+ "Clarity" filter. The rest was done in the lens.

It got me second prize in a competition, too.

Thanks and congrats! I'm surprised that the Clarity filter was used. With a lot of my attempts using it, the results looked overdone because of the lack of a slider that's available with some of the other efex.

It worked perfectly with your file.

That's because I shot it for the filter. :)
