The individual responsible for the CG wishes to remain anonymous for very specific reasons. What I can say is that only 10 of them exist, and it's an amazing work of art! I feel very fortunate to have one of them on my watch

Though I would say that it is a Dirk V2... the V2 is the Dirk that never was... ie it was made by Dirks partners who tried to pull a fast one on him... There are a lot of Dirk straps and buckles plus V2 straps and buckles that are about... the trick is knowing which are the original PreV buckles, which are the refurbed ones and which are the reminted ones... the reminted ones are using a weaker metal because the stamping used to bend the better ones to get the depth of engraving... its complicated and I could go on and on and on about the variations ( iwouldnt want to bore you!) but you still have a strap and buckle worth a good bit of money even though it has an additional hole...

Have had some nice comments and compliments while wearing it... It's definitely a watch that gets noticed ...but you still have a strap and buckle worth a good bit of money even though it has an additional hole... I just posted a reply on your other thread discussing the Dirk v2 straps... I did have to have an extra hole punched, as it was originally a bit too large for me. Not that it really matters much since I've no intention on ever selling the strap But it is always nice to know that such things retain their value

ubiquitous Posted October 11, 2012 Author Report Posted October 11, 2012 Figured I'd post a small update to this one- Got a new dial last night and promptly fitted; this one is, I believe a newer version FGD dial with slightly thinner indicies and a custom paint job to the markers. The indicies appear to be a little deeper; the painted walls of the markers add to the Pre-V look I only have two quick pics for now... Need to grab some better shots (though it seems the daylight hours are becoming shorter and shorter already )...
