HauteHippie
Went through airport security with my PAM 196 the other day, and after removing my shoes, belt and pocket contents the damn metal detector still flagged me... So the Homeland Security agent says "Please put that watch through the X-ray machine and try again sir. That's a big chuck of metal!" And that worked. Hilarious. V
I always have a problem with my 196 and airports. SO from now on I take it off before going through the metal detectors.
bruce79
I have always taken my watch off at airport security, I thought it was mandatory.

Polynomial
Depends which ariport; sensitivy of metal detectors are different, in most European airports I can have a belt buckle, and watch on with no problems, but once I had terrible problems going in and out of the detector which kept beeping and beeping, until I finally removed a chewing gum wrap. Watchmeister
If I am traveling with a PAM, I always take it off before going through airport screening. The one time I didn't the alrm went off and then I had to go through the more extensive search. No, not the body cavity search.
kasigi
I fly a fair bit in the UK and if I'm wearing my 005 the detector always goes off. Doesn't bother me and it makes me happier to know that the sensors are pretty sensitive. The time the sensor went off and it was down to some .22 cartridge cases stuck in the treads of my boots was interesting though!

thomasng
At the courthouse, for the last week, I had to remove my watch because on the first day it kept setting off the metal detector. But it never did at airports for some strange reason. It's a GP Seahawk II, FYI.
