bigbaddds
Just wanted some interesting ideas with what to do to a 1665 midcase with badly drilled lug holes . I guess the only option out there that was suggested by JMB was to fit fixed bars into the watch, but as I search there's no gen with a 1665 case with fixed lugs. Any other ideas guys? Thanks
Guest zeleni kukuruz
Throw it in the watch box and forgett about it. Then in 20years you will show your kids what a great watchsmith/modder you was when you were a punk
Watchmeister
Aaah, throw it out.
Nanuq
Put in the fixed bars and wear the sucker. Call it the 5517 From Hell.

FxrAndy
They can be micro welded up and redone I have been told. I even went on a demonstration of a micro welder and what that can do I was impressed!
jmb
By the time you pay for welding and re-drilling you could have bought a new case - IMO.
Ephry73
I would take the case and do something else with it. Say a Bond with an HEV. PM me if you're really trashing it. E
bigbaddds
@Zeleni --> @Ephry73 --> if I decide to trash it by all means you have first dibs, but someone has offered to see what they can do And thanks to JMB for his answers to all my questions earlier! cheers
Jkay
Why not drive round bar stock into the large holes .. then re-drill them. Seems like the obvious answer. edit: and JMB answered before I could

JoeyB
It's nice to know that I'm not the only one... Maybe. I tried this method of repair, but haven't finished it. http://www.repgeek.c...ighlight=harris I haven't tried to polish it to see if it can be made invisible. I wasn't prepared to buy a big roll of the solder, but did find a small kit by the same manufacturer, same flux and one size bigger solder for under $10. Part number is Stay-Brite SBSK. I've never been very good at soldering, and this was my only attempt. Someone could likely do a much better job.
