Tribal
Yepp this what I meant. it's about the radius. Too much material in this area and much more curved to the end of the SEL. Hope you understand what I mean?!? Thanks
chefcook
End link is now slightly shorter in the middle section (0.2mm), top radius and bottom radius decreased. It now has the same thickness and length in outer and middle section as the genuine article (had the opportunity to take some measurements just a few minutes ago). In addition it got a little cosmetical tweak by thinning the lower tips that go into the case notch. As Tribal said the rounded portion of the middle link came down a lot now. What do you think? its_urabus
Wait, please don't tell me samples are already being machined! If so that's freaking amazing! Now I'm pumped! Edited January 17, 2012 by its_urabus
chefcook
No no! TC and I do not work together on this. I am just finishing drawings to send them to some potential manufacturers. As soon as I have quotes one or two pairs will be made as samples and if they look good I'll get a few for you.
chefcook
First inquiries are out to potential manufacturers.
its_urabus
Since my sean case build is with VAC, I had him measure the lugs: 20.13mm at both sides.

irolexu
Ok definitely in for one of these end links my Franken TW would be superb with this. Chefcook are these end links going to be stamped?
w.genzo
Since my sean case build is with VAC, I had him measure the lugs: 20.13mm at both sides. The main poblem is that lugs are not straight, so it could be 20.05 or 20.13, but always wider than 20mm. I was thinking to ask my wm how much he charges for laser welding, usually he is quite cheap and it shouldn't be too hard to add a slice of material between the lugs. Anyway it's again extra bucks.. Check this, it's very impressive: http://www.rolexforu...ad.php?t=208240 Sorry for the OT:)
chefcook
My end link design is currently 20.2mm wide so that there is some material to be ground off to achieve a perfect fit.
w.genzo
Super, that's the best solution Imho
chefcook
I think so, too. 20.2mm leaves enough material to custom fit it to one's specific case and is not too much to be ground off manually within half an hour for both end links. Tribal
Sounds good On my WM9V2 it is 20,13mm
Star69
where is the order button ?
w.genzo
And in this way you would also avoid the issue that the lugs are not straight in the rep case, i.e 20,05 at the beginning and 20,13 at the end. We could sand the case first to have all at 20,13 and then the links if needed.
chefcook
Order button will follow later. As soon as I have fixed everything with my suppliers and the prototype looked good I will open a pre-order thread in the sales section. A link will follow in this thread. giobo
Guys you are great!!! If it becomes true one of the non fixable tells will be history...Although i think gap in between SEL's and case is noticable easier in the pics than real life... Also fatter SELs will be trimmed easy so no problem... Edited January 19, 2012 by giobo
