asf Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 The debate goes on! Thanks for the great review
z3k0 Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Thanks for great pics ... too bad the text doesn't correspond
dluddy Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Nice comparison Rollie Thanks for sharing
senator Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 "LSML" spacing looks on the H-version much better
mikellem Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Rolli, Great Review and excellent photos. One question sir? If you had a genuine 243 in your hand, why would you not include the the gen watch for comparison? MM
dark Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 The lever shape appears much more accurate on the noob. I also think the bezel markers look a lot better on the noob the pearl for sure. I guess we have different takes on these.
dark Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Thanks for taking the time to put this together it is a great side by side.

blbl Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Very great comparison and I agree H fac. seems like a better choice overall for me as well. May I know where did the blue strap come from? It looks gorgeous
Master Chief Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Thanks for share review, but still on my eyes, looks better noob version all the way.
Steve G Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Different strokes I guess. I think the H Factory offers the best construction and looks more finished. Those that want to do heavy mods, deal with cloudy glass, markers falling off and loose bezels go Noob! 1
Watchmeister Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 And that is what makes the forum great. Rolli, very nice comparison. Somehow this looks like another buy both and combine the best parts. Why does it always end up that way.
Steve G Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Gen pics would be helpful. But I agree, you'll probably need to combine elements of both to get closer to the gen. These factories aren't ignorant, possible ploy to generate equal interest in both offerings.
SERGEANT_AT_ARMS Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 bezel: h-factory: correct shape and largeness, knurling has the right shape, 120 clicks and works very precise and smooth, noob factory: not correct shape and largeness with wrong angle, knurling has a too much rounded shape, with this bezel the watch has a wrong look, bezel 60 clicks and works rough, bezel 5 minute steel marker: h-factory: correct shape and largeness and on top the correct polishing, correct tallness on the bezel, noob factory: not correct shape and largeness, they sit too far out of the bezel, and have a too much rounded polishing, I REALLY wish you could have shown bezel comparisons with the gen, what you describe contradicts what most have stated about the bezels?
RedSoxMan Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) You say the dials are the same? Here's the comparison of all three (from the other comparison on RWG)... H-Factory on the Left, N-Factory in the Middle, Gen on the Right. The thing that stand out to me the most is how thin the "6" is on the H-Factory versus the Gen. The Noob looks very close. The dial is a big thing to me, probably why I only own Frankens with Gen dials at this point... However, the Noob suffers from a few things, too, which have been reviewed over and over again... brushed CP, crystal inconsistency, lume not as strong, etc. Right now, I won't buy either one. If either factory ups their game and fixes these issues, I'll buy from that factory. If the H-Factory fixed their dial, I'd probably go that direction -- even with the other flaws (bezel and CG). Draw your own conclusions. Edited February 21, 2012 by RedSoxMan

Those that want to do heavy mods, deal with cloudy glass, markers falling off and loose bezels go Noob! Big +1. And the dial differences on the wrist, not blown up in macro shots, is negligible.
RedSoxMan Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 The 029m is what both of these factories should be shooting for at this point -- accuracy and overall fit and finish. Both factory's versions fall short... H Factory -- at least fix your dial (size of numbers and semi gloss finish) and CG. I can live with the 120 clicks, I guess... N Factory -- polish the CP, superlume the dial and make sure the crystal is on par with the H Factory. I sincerely hope there are V2's of each -- H and N -- addressing their respective issues.
kasper618 Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 I went with Noob, and last min switched to the H, I couldn't get over noobs bezel markers, too rounded, and they stick out way too much. +1 on where that sexy blue croc strap came from! DO WANT!!!
howardtny Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 great review. love the detail. I just ordered the H. Just my 2cents tho, the blue alligator? really?
