  1. I also love me some subby!!!
  2. Big +1. And the dial differences on the wrist, not blown up in macro shots, is negligible.
  3. The 243 is H factory no mods. The 24 is gen F series.
  4. Actually more like Arnold and Danny Devito :-). Playing around with the iPhone and took a couple quick pics, I do love me some subby!!!
  5. Angus and 2 other TD's as well, it just a re-stock no V2 Noob 243 as yet.
  6. From what I understand this new batch isn't changing anything, just more of the same run with all the same flaws.
  7. Yes I ended up ordering the H version as well, on it's way from Josh as we speak.
  8. I don't think it's a complete no brainer, it's really more of a toss-up between the two as far as I'm concerned. I think you really can't go wrong either way, and believe me I'm not sticking my head in the sand, I've owned the gen twice (I and L series). There's just something about the H I can't quite put my finger on, but then again I'm not looking for a gen replacement just a solid rep.
  9. I know this might sound crazy and I have been a supporter of the Noob 243, I do think its a great rep (reliability notwithstanding). But when I look at the side-by-side of the H and the N versions I prefer the H. Yeah maybe the bezel markers aren't as accurate or the crownguard, but there's something about it that just looks higher quality than the N. Like I said crazy but just my observation.
  10. I just checked my gen 106E 48 teeth on the crown.
  11. WOW Kruz what a great Sub line-up!! I love the 170 tried digging one up over on Risti, but their were no sellers, that is an awesome watch! I ended up settling for a 106, which will be here today, can't beat an anthracite, T dial sub on a bracelet Wear them well!
  12. Ken put me down for one as well, I hope this project goes through, great idea!
  13. I guess I'll never understand the love affair with Davidsen watches, the ones I've owned were all sold off fairly quickly (one without even making it on my wrist). I just don't equate quality with all the issues common with his watches. Anyhow about the issue of swan neck (or lack thereof) I really wouldn't lose much sleep over it, as was mentioned even the best of the rep movements don't hold a candle to the real deal.
  14. 201/A on Metta killer combo!!! Very nice.
  15. Gotta love Davidsen, inaccuracies and total lack of QC is why I have chosen to steer clear. I MIGHT consider buying one, if I was buying it 2nd hand from someone who could already confirm that everything was perfect. Other than that, (especially lately) it seems dealing with him is a total crapshoot.
  16. I think that is just a photoshop prototype, of a project watch. Using an aftermarket Fiddy case and Maurice Lacroix movement. There's a thread about it over on Risti, the guys just asking for input on whether or not he should proceed. Definitely not a Pam production watch, to my knowledge there's never been a skeleton watch offered, no doubt the reason for these project watches popping up lately.
  17. 3 gen Pannie's for me: 86D 112F 24I I love the historics but I can't live without a date display, so the automatics get most of the wrist time.
  18. Ah Davidsen bless his heart, gotta love him, attention to detail is just not his strong point. From the pic it looks like the crownguard is still polished as well, wasn't he supposed to change it to a brushed crownguard?
  19. @jsmith11, hi bro sorry to read about all your problems with this purchase from Angus, I've dealt with him many a times and every watch was flawless. Perhaps you might decide to give him another try. One word of caution some members swear by Davidsen, and while it's no doubt he has a nice product, he probably has the worst QC of all our trusted dealers. Lately there have been a slew of complaints with watches recieved from him with a variety of issues. I'd only buy a Davidsen on the second hand market when you can be sure you'll recieve a good one. Some feel it's worth all the trouble when you get a good Davidsen watch, but that's a big IF.

    PAM 183G

No Toot I think it is definitely a G series 183, the movement decoration changed from the repeating Panerai, to cotes de geneve with H series.
  21. Some more base love, 112 all the way!
  22. Give Angus (Puretime) 111E a try it is a great out of the box rep, good looking crown guard, thick crown, you can get it with the Asian 6497 which performs well and looks decent (plus you'll save a good bit over Swiss). I had one and it was my favorite non-modded Pam.

    DSN 005

I had a gen 005 on my wrist a couple of weeks ago debating between it and a couple of other models, I decided it wasn't the one for me and went with something else. But I can say the Davidsen logo is a noticeable flaw especially since it's front and center on the dial, but since no one else is offering anything better, I guess his is the lesser of two evils. I had one a while back and it was a decent rep.
