  1. Wow some whimsical and fanciful idea's floating around out there
  2. I have to wholeheartedly agree with your review I just recieved mine this past Saturday and I am totally impressed with the fit and finish on this watch. It really screams gen ( for near perfection send it out for AR and change the day/date wheels) it really is one impressive piece of hardwear. I've been wearing it non-stop since I got it and can't get over the quality, love the size big yet not overbearing, and not like wearing a brick on your wrist since it's Ti, I also highly recommend this watch it's definitely one of the better reps out there.
  3. The watch is not bad but all the Top Gun badging is LAME! I'd feel like a idiot wearing that watch. What's next a Transformers edition?
  4. I'm guessing that most who are posting negatively have not seen and handled these watches in person. It's very hard to completely appreciate or discount a watch based just on pictures. These watches are awesome, genuine "tool" watches, they are more than just a fashion statement watch but as was stated before a watch with real history and truly functional design. Although I love Pannies they are plain and and dare I say it, boring, (gasp! blasphemy) compared to the bold, striking design of Graham watches.
  5. I have one on the way from Angus, I can't wait for this one I tried the gen on and decided this was one I had to have.
  6. I'm looking foward to seeing the finished product should be a beauty!
  7. Boy I can't say much more than I already have on this subject. Why Davidsen continues to have such a rabid fan following is beyond, and don't tell me it's because of outsanding quality, fit and finish I have owned several and I am not impressed. On top of that you have all the QC issues to deal with, one member recently posted that he had finally recieved a good Davidsen after THREE ATTEMPS!!! Are you kidding me? But the arguement is that when you finally get a "good" Davidsen it's all worth it HUH? I don't have the time or inclination to deal with that aggravation. I have NEVER had that kind of problem with any other dealer (have a 111E on the way from Angus that I like the looks of way more than David's and spent a good deal less on) , yet and still many will continue to buy from him and call him a master and an artist, to each his own I guess.
  8. It's definitely coming along but still a way to go before it's even close to making me do a double take.
  9. I have to agree with many of the other comments here I'm completely underwhelmed by Davidsen's offerings. I have given his watches a try on several occations (due to many glowing reviews) but I have not been impressed, stripped lugs, and crown guard screws, loose sloppy levers drive me crazy and are inexcusable for watches at his price point. Some have gone so far as to call him an artist PLEASE with non existant QC and ever present issues with his dials I will not be wasting time or money with his watches (sold my others off, good riddence) and the AR on his watches while nice is a dead rep giveaway especially the Fiddy that blue hue is completely wrong for that model. Best bet pick a nice "starter" from one of the collectors on board and mod it out, the end result will be much more satisfying than anything Davidsen offers that's my method of choice.
  10. I think it's an overall mindset in the rep community to be satisfied with shoddy craftsmanship and nonexistant QC. Many of us make excuses for why the watches come to us in what would be considered any other time unexceptable condition. I did the same thing and offered the same praise for dealers like Davidsen, but I've tired of dealing with mundane problems that should be addressed before shipping, honestly I would hardly call Davidsen an artist. A true artist gives attention to the details, and stripped crown guard and lug screws, loose crown guard levers and his own unique lug and case dimentions just don't add up as far as I'm concerned. That's why my Davidsen reps have left the building and I'm adding a few more gens (Panerai included) to my collection and slowly clearing out my other reps, I guess I'm tiring of the whole game. Anyway sorry to rant on, hope you get your issues cleared up and enjoy the new additions.
  11. Hi Bron, If you upgrade to VIP membership you'll have access to all the "Collecters on this board plenty of choices.
  12. I like the looks of the 163, and the Seagull handwind chrono movement is absolutely awesome. I have one in my 192 it is almost bullet proof, and a great timekeeper.
  13. Enjoy it very nice, but no more scrutinizing it's still a rep
  14. How will I get by until Monday, without advice on how to coordinate my outfit with my watch strap.
  15. Get a fully modded 111 with all the fixes, I have a 111f (currently with Vac for movement service) that is fully modded out and it has that gen feel to it. To be honest I am absolutely not satisfied with "out of the box" Pams anymore things like recessed cannon pins drive me nuts. So to truly be satisfied narrow down what your top favorite Pam's are, and then have them modded out, you'll never look at your "ordinary" Pams the same way again.
  16. Comparisons with the Gen really don't accomplish anything, there will always be a laundry list of inaccuracies with reps. Even the highly touted Davidsen Fiddy will be called out within moments by a true paneristi just too many little inconsistancies that are major tells to someone in the know. Even if you went ahead and changed dials relumed closer to gen, fixed the other little issues (by the way is the crown guard lever firm and tight even when opened another rep "tell") the crystal would still be your dead giveaway from the front and the movement from the back (even Davidsen's movement which is considered one of the best, is no where close to the gen's level of engraving and finish) So I suggest that you don't go handing it out to everyone for close inspection and enjoy it as what it is a very nice rep.
  17. It's nice that we can have someone with absolutely no experience dealing with modders and a virtual noob bring peace to the board Anyhow sorry to see Flav pull out I've had him do quite a bit of work for me and his service has always been top notch, but enjoy the extra time with the family.
  18. Had a Fiddy got it all modded out, had to see for myself what the fuss was all about. But alas it was not for me, even and still if you do buy into the "Fiddy club" can't go wrong with a Davidsen, nice choice.
  19. Gosh 80 some odd straps and thousands spent within the course of a month and a half I don't think I'd admit that in public why don't you take all that disposable income and buy a nice gen Pam (or two)? At lease that way they will still be running after a year or two and you'll have some watches to put all those straps on
  20. I can vouch for the quality of Flav's work I've sent several watches to him and when I get them back (super fast turnaround by the way) they always exceed my expectations. If you want the best rep Pam sending it to be modded is probably your best bet.
  21. Not a scam site, but not one of the recognized collectors on this board. If your looking for a reliable source plenty of choices around here to pick from.
  22. From the pics it sure does, but still a sharp looking watch, especially the orange dial version.
  23. I firmy believe in quality over quantity, I know some like to buy up anything and everything but I think your better off narrowing it down to your favs and then taking those few to the next level with mods. Or go the easier route and just buy from Davidsen
  24. I believe that's TWP's site, mods done by Vacuum.
