red series 3
Hi, I was thinking about buying an acrylic crystal for a 16014 datejust and was wondering if the clarks product was any good. Is the date mag correct? I appreciate any help. Thanks
alligoat
Yes, the 25-135 works fine. Date mag is not overwhelming, but it is ok. The only watch w/ 3x date mag is the 1680 w/ a 127 tropic.
kbh
I've replaced a couple of gen DJ acrylics with the Clark's and I can't see any difference at all. I wouldn't be able to tell one from another once they end up in my parts drawer.
JoeyB
I think Clark's crystals are the best to use. Top quality, I can't tell them from a gen, and the price is very fair.
freddy333
The gen xtals are clearer & have greater sparkle, if that interests you. But, for aftermarket, you cannot beat Clarks.
cjjoyce1
Freddy, KBH and JoeyB are right - Clarks crystals are the best bang for your buck out there. Plenty enough clarity and sparkle in my book Edited March 24, 2012 by cjjoyce1
red series 3
Ok so Clarks crystal is good now would i be able to change it the crystal myself. I have a press with dies that sit well on the bezel for a 16014 but i only have a pallet knife as a tool to remove it. If i remove the movement from the case can i press the crystal out the other way and then press a new one back in? Thanks again

red series 3
I use a single-edged razor blade with no problems... and... you work from one side then to the next? Thanks for the tip
superlative
and... you work from one side then to the next? Thanks for the tip Yes. Also use masking tape to cover up the lugs so that you don't scratch them when prying off the bezel.
