nomis Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 I am new with IWC and i decided to take a rep first, but i will like to take a really good IWC rep. Can anyone give me some suggestion?
FxrAndy Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 3717 maybe, if you are after a chrono, or a portofino if not, with a bit of work the new Mk XVI can be made great also
Lobster Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 It's a subjective question, I mean, what sort of watch styles do you like? A rep may be highly accurate but you may hate the way it sits on you. I agree with FxrAndy above though, a classic accurate rep is the 3717. Then again some of the 'seconds at 6' (non chrono) Portuguese are relatively accurate and don't require much modding.
Logan Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 Avoid any of the seconds at 6 chrono's, otherwise the Ingenieur's are excellent, or the pilot series, Top Gun or 3717.
brunik Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 i have a IWC F.A Jones with seconds @ 6" nonetheless is the only one viable for that position. All other are stopping!
HartDoc Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 are you talking about the old ingy or the new ones the Ingenieur's are excellent,
alterego Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 Old and new Ingeniueurs ? Sorry about irrpting on this thread but can someone explain what are the differences between old and new ? I am fasccinated by the Ingenieur, so all infomation you guys can provide will be appreciated. Alter.
sgtguk Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 I love the Ingenieur, looked around for ages trying to find one and this one came up I think its one of the older versions....but new to me
FxrAndy Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 are you talking about the old ingy or the new ones Can you show me the new Ingys as well please
folex Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 I know theres a pinned thread, but it doesn't give clear hints as to which IWC's are closest to gen, or should i say "Super-reps". Like in the Panerai's there's PAM005, etc. Your opinions would be appreciated, thanks
initram5 Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 I also would like to know what are the most accurate replicas?
FxrAndy Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 You will have to spend a bit of time reading and learning Unfortunately this rep hobby is never a one stop shop when you want the best
folex Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 You will have to spend a bit of time reading and learning Unfortunately this rep hobby is never a one stop shop when you want the best Oh, I learned that already, its just I want to know what is/are the most accurate reps for IWC's.
teamio77 Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 A couple in my views. 1. Mark XVI 2. 3717 3. (Black) Portofino Automatic 4. Fa Jones In my view they are all good but if i have to choose, I will definitely opt for 3. The new (black dial) Portofino Automatic.
