jacob_coulter Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 I'm having a hard time finding something like this: Uploaded with ImageShack.us It's fairly generic, but I like the old school look of a DateJust, but have a hard time finding one from our "trusted" vendors. It seems most of the ones they offer are the more modern ones. Would like it also with a swiss ETA. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
kbh Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 I've never seen that style of bezel on a rep. You could probably find one with that dial or similar in a newer non lug hole case and fluted bezel.
alligoat Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 Yeh, I've never seen an 'engine turned bezel' on a rep either. That's probably a 20 year old watch and the rep makers are more up to date than that. Building a franken with a gen case and dial would be the only way to go, or keep an eye on the sales forums for one. You could probably buy a gen for $1500 or so if you're patient.
sigsvoor Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 Silix sells a very nice 16200-rep btw: the watch posted is a 1603 with pie-pan-dial and the low-beat caliber 1570, maybe even the 1560, working with 2.5 Hz
aurelienconiglio Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 hi everyone i'm building a franken with the same watch, i got the 1603 case, and the same pie-pan-dial, witch movement will fit the most? 2836-2? i was thinking of buying a swiss fake datejust rolex like this one: http://www.watch88.com/ROLEX-DATEJUST-SS-SWISS-ETA-2836-2-GRAY-1634-36.html what do you think? thanks a lot for answers

I used a 2824-2, worked perfectly.
aurelienconiglio Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 hi thanks for answer, where did you find your 2824-2? did it come with the hands?
aurelienconiglio Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 did the date disc match, coz i've read on some post that we need to change it for a gen
mymanmatt Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 If you use a gen case you can use a 2824-2 not a 2836-2 The stem placement is to low on the 2836. I have built several of these watches over the years. Of course gen case and dial are a must. Today's overlay will work. Next is the bracelet, a gen is a must. Today's aftermarket bracelets are a touch to thick. You can build this watch for around $600. A lot, but it will be spot on. Good luck. Cas-Ker has the 2824-2 movement
monkeypunch Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 For the date you need what's called a date wheel overlay. Every 2824 movement i've purchased has come with hour and minute hands attached, i've since switched them to datejust hands I had laying around. I'll probably end up picking up some gold hands in the near future.
aurelienconiglio Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 thanks a lot guys, i got the complete gen case and a dial. i'm now about to buy the movement wich i found. i'm still looking for a gen jubilee bracelet. if anyone got one... i'll post some pictures soon
aurelienconiglio Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 where can i find a date wheel overlay that will fit on my 2824-2 movement? thanks a lot
