Nanuq Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 We've got a gnarly early winter storm tonight, with sustained winds ~100mph. Hang onto your hats, it's going to get ugly! The barometer is down to 944mb and dropping ... during hurricane Isaac is was around 968mb. YOWZA!!!
stolikat Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 WOW Better throw another log on the fire!!
Nanuq Posted September 5, 2012 Author Report Posted September 5, 2012 Can't do that, smoke comes down the chimney and fills the house. Now the power is out and it looks like a war zone with power transformers blowing, making huge blue flashes in the rain clouds down the mountain. There's fresh snow on Suicide Peak right above me.
HauteHippie Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) Holy cannoli. But if anyone is prepared for a situation like this, I know it's you. Stay safe, (and thirsty), my friend... Edited September 5, 2012 by chieftang

Nanuq Posted September 5, 2012 Author Report Posted September 5, 2012 Whoop whoop! The power is still out, lots of fresh new snow just above the house, lots of trees down.... firewood everywhere! It's like pennies from heaven.

its_urabus Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 I love how its nearly the end of the world up there and you spin a positive out of it, free fire wood, that's just great! A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. - Sir Winston Churchill way to live it my friend!
modelizer Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 Whoop whoop! The power is still out, lots of fresh new snow just above the house, lots of trees down.... firewood everywhere! It's like pennies from heaven. Love your approach mate!

chronoluvvv Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 well we wouldn't want you to get too spoilt up there dry as a bone down here in Seattle and a steady 70+ for the last couple of months
Nanuq Posted September 16, 2012 Author Report Posted September 16, 2012 Nice! I used to live on Bainbridge Island and commuted on the ferry. What a life. Ever been to Winslow? Best Thai ever at Teddy's place on Wyatt way.
