jamesfl Posted November 27, 2012 Report Posted November 27, 2012 Was checking out Toro's website last night and notice he had a bunch of Ebel's listed for only $148. I emailed him to see what the deal was and he said this was his Xmas Special and they would only be available at this price until Dec. 31st. For those not familiar with these models they are great reps that look awesome and are quite substantial. This a great price for a watch with a a7750 movement from a great Trust Dealer. At this price I am tempted to pick up a Panda even though, I already have the 1911 BTR yellow on leather. Here is the link for those interested:http://www.torobravos.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=81_90 1
cougar1 Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) Aye, cracking rep, fantastic deal, shushhh, don't tell everyone Edited November 28, 2012 by cougar1
Mike on a bike Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 Thanks James, now I have to get one!
krpster Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 Going to have to get me one of those. Thanks for the tip.
wilazn Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 I ordered one without hesitation lol. That deal is insanely good. Panda on bracelet is gorgeous.
kramerica2 Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 Great deal for an amazing watch. Ordered the discovery panda (finally).
jamesfl Posted November 29, 2012 Author Report Posted November 29, 2012 (edited) I tried and tried to resist...but in the end I order a Panda to go with my BTR. Just too great of a bargain to pass on. I think I need help... lol. Edited November 29, 2012 by jamesfl
watchman12345 Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 Basically every post so far is saying how great they are! They are great.
kramerica2 Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 Yes, Ebel used to have some nice watches.. unfortunately, the brand today is pretty much dead. I looked at their current collection at their website. To say it's boring would be a compliment... Too bad! (It doesn't take any of the beauty of the 1911 of-course)
jamesfl Posted November 29, 2012 Author Report Posted November 29, 2012 IMPORTANT REMINDER - When you get your Ebel be sure to tighten all the screws, especially the bezel screws. I've had them go missing in the past and getting replacements in the future might be very difficult. Toro told me that the manufacturer will be discontinuing this model once this run is gone.
ActionZzZ Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 panda from dealer: DIMENSIONS: 44.5mm x 15mm gen: 43 mm x 14 mm right?
Ephry73 Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 If I had the cash I would jump on one of the BR02s in SS and worry about mod'ding it later
tranzmizzion Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Modding the br? What does it need? Picked up the non chrono ss. Yo avoid that sunken datewheel.
tranzmizzion Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Though i was tempted to add the gild br.... Dont have much gold.
sneed12 Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 Pandas don't seem to be available any longer.
brianpelooza Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 i am waiting for my Disco SS red dials to arrive.... it should be pretty soon I imagine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Ephry73 Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 I'm definitely eyeing a BR02 in stainless.
brianpelooza Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 hi guys, received my disco today from Toro. I will be posting a review soon but i need some help as this is my first rep and I do not want to mess it up. the watch seems alright, but i cant pull the crown at all.... is there anyone facing the same issue or do you guys have any tips? the crown moves but it looks like it is getting unscrewed when i do, so i stopped it there. thanks B Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
jamesfl Posted December 5, 2012 Author Report Posted December 5, 2012 It has a screw down crown. Turn counterclockwise to unscrew it. 1st position is to wind it. Pull the cown out slightly to second position to set the day and date, then pull the crown out to the finally position to set the time. When done push the crown back in and screw it back down. Do not set the day and date when the time on the watch is between 10:00 and 2:00. I usually advance the time to 6:00 to set the day and date, then set the time. There are some threads about the A7750. I would recommend you read about them as there are some do's and don'ts that you need to be aware of to avoid screwing up the movement. Now post some Pics!!
TheRefinedSon Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 Good info jamesfl. I just ordered my disco. I've wanted a watch with an a7750 for a while.
bolido2000 Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 Thanks for the heads up! Been eyeing a SS BR02 for a while, and just pulled the trigger
