chibiunko
Date alignment looks good. Now you just need to change the insert, as it's an instant tell.
hknslmz
Indeed, as I used to have gen sub for years, I can say it is even not that important to change the insert. Its already good enough! But of course when i find a gen, i ll not miss it:))

Centurion
I'm curious to know what the instant tell is with the bezel insert?
hknslmz
I'm curious to know what the instant tell is with the bezel insert? it is almost perfect. an ad salesman even hesitates to check if it is gen or not..the best thing to do is to wait for the watch before ordering a gen insert. chibiunko
I'm curious to know what the instant tell is with the bezel insert? The color is off and the Pearl is off as well.

Muaitai
TC insert looks amazing, the only difference IMHO is the texture of the insert, the gen is much more smooth whereas the TC texture is a little more rough. Erict719
Is it just the light effect? Is the color diff in real life? that tc pearl look seriously close in close up shot! Any comparison of pearls vs gen ??

Any comparison of pearls vs gen ?? Yes the colors are really different. The gen has a slight sheen and for a lack of a better word, "Sparkle" as you move the bezel around. Like little green specs of color that shine. The pearl lies flatter and the metal around the pearl is thinner and flatter Here is a link to TC's blog about the pearl: http://blog.tc-sub.com/2013/01/tcs-pursuit-of-perfect-sub-progress.html Edited March 21, 2013 by chibiunko
lja1821
Correct if im wrong but rolex lv bezel colors varied with serial years, so they are not all exactly the same anyway.. I have a tc lv and its a fantastic rep..i dont think its that easy to tell as one would think in the wild.enjoy it!

I have a tc lv and its a fantastic rep..i dont think its that easy to tell as one would think in the wild.enjoy it! That is true, it varies with years..Of course bezel colour and finish is not 100% perfect but I can say it is almost perfect. btw, we all examine those very very detailed pics on hd monitors with high resolution and try to find some differences. Of course we find, but it does not mean that is wrong with the watch.. In addition, the watch weighs 127gr two links removed, which is also good enough for gen feel. Jkay
Here is a Bezel Comparison TC on left, Gen on Right. One watch is in shade and one watch is in light. Nothing useful can be told from these bad pictures. Calling something like this an "instant tell" is a wild exaggeration at best
