Doublewindsor Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 I have just purchased my 2nd Avenger. I also purchased a rubber strap to replace the bracelet 1
Doublewindsor Posted March 27, 2013 Author Report Posted March 27, 2013 My new Avanger next to my old 1
Doublewindsor Posted March 27, 2013 Author Report Posted March 27, 2013 Swapped for the rubber strap 1
SSTEEL Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 Looks great, and I see your later photos the sub-dial @6 is corrected. Did you remove the hand, and reset it to the 12 position, or simply run the chrono for a while, and reset?
Doublewindsor Posted March 27, 2013 Author Report Posted March 27, 2013 I see what you mean, I didn't spot that. I purchased two avengers exactly the same. One ended up being faulty and I have had to send back. The one I am wearing now the @6 dial is correct. Thanks for pointing that out.
Doublewindsor Posted March 27, 2013 Author Report Posted March 27, 2013 I have reviewed the pictures and it is the non faulty watch that has the off sundial. It seems to be fine now I hadn't done anything to correct the it.
derik429 Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 Where did you get the band from? And how did you change it?
Doublewindsor Posted March 28, 2013 Author Report Posted March 28, 2013 I got the rubber strap from trusty time for $98 and I changed using a tiny flat headed screwdriver to pop the pins out. It was a real pain at first as I had to keep removing and cutting down the strap so it would fit. For someone who knows what they are doing it would take them about 10 minutes. I think it looks much better with the rubber.
derik429 Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 It looks great! What about sizing of the band? How do you adjust?
Doublewindsor Posted March 28, 2013 Author Report Posted March 28, 2013 The strap comes in two pieces and it looks like to can adjust both sides but the piece that has the clasp looks like it's adjustable, but it's not. You cannot remove the pin. What I had to do is cut down the other piece as small as it would go, then attach it to the other end of the clasp with a spring bar. Behind the clasp is an adjustment mechanism that allows you to adjust the strap by 15ml. I have small to average sized wrists, with the strap on the smallest size it fits perfectly.
martijnp Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 I really like the style of the Breitling SA, but it's a huge watch! I think it's to big for my small wrists. Wear it in good health!
jacob what the hell man Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 Is anyone worried about the finish of this watch? Or maybe it's the camera?
Doublewindsor Posted March 28, 2013 Author Report Posted March 28, 2013 Is anyone worried about the finish of this watch? Or maybe it's the camera? Can you be more specific?
Doublewindsor Posted March 28, 2013 Author Report Posted March 28, 2013 If it was the @6 subdial you can see it is in the correct position, if there is any other inperfections please point them out to me.
Doublewindsor Posted April 2, 2013 Author Report Posted April 2, 2013 Yeah that's right it is the Superlume
BigDD Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 Very nice! Does anyone know if the gen SA also have blue AR coating? I have a SA as well and been wanting to see if i should remove the AR coating.
Cy33 Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 I have the same $98 strap on my SA. It is of good quality and it is much more comfortable than the bracelet. It looks great on yours. Congrats. Also, you can buy a tool that helps with swapping the straps. The info as well as step by step sizing instructions are on the Breitling source website.
Doublewindsor Posted April 3, 2013 Author Report Posted April 3, 2013 Both mine have a double AR coating and you can only see the blue glair in certain light. Majority of the time you cannot even see there is any glass in the watch as the sapphire crystal is so clear. I'm not sure why you would want to remove the AR coating it is it supposed to have it
Doublewindsor Posted April 3, 2013 Author Report Posted April 3, 2013 If you want the correct bracelet removal tool you need Bergeon 6767-S Spring Bar Removing Tool. They cost about £13 delivered.
dannyboy Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 Beautiful shots! I used to have 2 SAs...sadly had to let them go for other projects.
hansmeier Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 Stunning watch! Sadly too big for my small wrist, so I got its little brother Skyland Avenger. The built quality is top notch, it feels rock solid! Enjoy your SA in good health mate!
Doublewindsor Posted April 19, 2013 Author Report Posted April 19, 2013 I got this from Andrew at Trusty Time
indywatchguy Posted April 19, 2013 Report Posted April 19, 2013 Very nice! Does anyone know if the gen SA also have blue AR coating? I have a SA as well and been wanting to see if i should remove the AR coating. I'm not sure either why you would want to remove the AR??? It makes the dial POP much more and guys pay big bucks to have AR jobs done but if you insist on removing the AR a Cape Cod polishing cloth and some elbow action will do the job!
