Curt941 Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 I've never seen this style with the black minute track, but the crown looks pretty good to me, daytona spacing looks good, back of the dial is stamped "singer", never seen sub-dials like this on a rep dial either, with the concentric circles. Thoughts?
whoopy12 Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 I'm no daytona expert, but it does look pretty good. Source?
ceejay Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 John Mayer would love to get he's hands on that
DinoD Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 Just compared with Daytona book. And it does look pretty good. Only thing I see wrong, is the spacing is off in DAYTONA and numbers need to be a bit thicker Here a example from the book.
DinoD Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Here are some more photos for reference and detail explanation. Edited March 27, 2014 by DinoD
DinoD Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Can we also see the back of the dial and where did you get it from? Also sins the word DAYTONA is in red, this would have to be for a stainless steel model 6264 or 6262. Edited March 27, 2014 by DinoD
Curt941 Posted March 27, 2014 Author Report Posted March 27, 2014 So this wouldn't be the right dial for a 6263? Dang. I don't have the dial yet, just thinking about buying it.
DinoD Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Apart from the red, the 6263 is a 3 liner dial Like so Can you tell us the source or price of the dial? Edited March 27, 2014 by DinoD
DinoD Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 Seller is asking $500 for it. I would say that's a bit steep, it's defiantly a reprint onto a singer plate, a fairly good one apart from the flaws listed. If you like the dial, try to get a better deal.
dropbear2008 Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 It's actually quite bad. The subdial rings make me dizzy... For $500 you get a much better dial from Phong, or if you are crazy like most of us the +$1k Newman dials from Minh are good.
freddy333 Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 Looks aftermarket & ditto dropbear2008's $500.......... comments.
lhooq Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 It's actually quite bad. The subdial rings make me dizzy... Yep. Subdial texture alone should be an instant disqualifier.
davids100 Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 6263 needs to get the word Oyster... and the only black PN dial officialy known on a 6263 as authentice is the Rolex Cosmograph Oyster. $1M+ at Christies. Not even a chance to get this on your wrist having people thinking it's a Gen one
