gran Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 (edited) 1924 Longines 18.90M calibre (Pocket watch movement) 39+ mm diameter http://www.offwatch....t=4930&start=45 NB! The M in 18.90M stand for Mince or thin movement, so makes for a rather slim watch Original dial and hands, Dial is golden (metal dial) and not yellow Example of pocket watch with this movement and dial (not the one used here): 44mm without crown in size so perfect for me!!! My watch was recased to make wrist watch by astonjenks. Warning!!! Such a converted watch is not for everyday use or for chopping wood as the shock absorbation is lacking on these old pocket watch movements. NB! As a general rule a pocket watch movement should stay in the pocket watch...its actually a crime to convert it if the original pocket watch can be restored or is a family heirloom. http://forum.chronom...90#.U-soDhBiJhQ Edited August 17, 2014 by gran
martijnp Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Amazing! I really like these pocket watches as wristwatch! Wear her well mate!
alt.watch.obsessive Posted August 20, 2014 Report Posted August 20, 2014 Lovely Gran and great work on the case AJ. Love that bridge over the mainspring barrel. If I was running Longines I would find a way to work that into my modern movements.
