1016 bracelet

Hi,

just assembling parts for my first build, an explorer 1016. Getting a case set from JMB. Dial and hands form yukiand not totally decided on the movement yet.

I'm also looking for either a 7206 or 7836 bracelet. I know Yuki stocks both but the 7206 is out of stock, anyone know where I could source one of these at a reasonable price? And also whether this would be a straight fit on to the case or if some modding would need to be done?

With the 7836, I see perfect clones stock one for $55 compared to yuki's $197 version. Anyone know if there are major differences with these two bracelets, and again whether they would be a straight fit onto the JMB case?

Thanks

What year 1016 are you shooting for?

I'm not intending to be that specific in making it of a correct year to be honest, however, something very similar to this is what I'm hoping for -

I'm going for this dial from yuki - http://www.yukiwatch.com/catalog/item/8677844/9637047.htm

Don't bother with the Yuki 7836.  If it's anything like the one I received a few years back, you get a better-looking clasp, but also big headaches thanks to fixed endlinks that aren't a particularly good fit on anything.

So better with the one from joshua? Would this fit straight onto a JMB case ok?

I've got the same combo as tomhorn on a 5513. Best 'bang for buck' I reckon. However, I've got a JMB caseset for a 1016 so I've just tried fitting my 5513 bracelet to it and I'm afraid it's not quite  right. The 2mm springbars fit fine into the lugs on their own but when put into the endlinks the 580's don't allow the springbar to line up with the lug holes. It's very close but not quite there. I'm no expert on endlinks but some with slightly smaller 'hoods' might allow the springbar to line up with the lug holes then, I reckon you're in business. Hope this helps.

On mine, I used these endlinks (not the ones linked above):

http://www.ebay.com/itm/580-END-PIECE-FOR-ROLEX-SUBMARINER-OYSTER-BAND-78360-/171022393380?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27d1baa024

I had my gen case drilled out for fat springbars. I believe he sells both versions, so make sure you order for your setup.

Also, I used the Aussie Springbars:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-SPRINGBAR-for-ROLEX-EXPLORER-1016-SUB-23-9293-/351011434208?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51b9e96ee0

I just contacted Mary by email and told her I wanted the 7836 bracelet from LHOOQ's review and they knew exactly what to send..

Most of the times a bit of grinding is needed where the top of the end-link meets the case.  If I could get cases without the inner "dimples" I could properly place the holes.  Seems that everything with reps is a compromise...

The engravings are meaningless, and often have no bearing on the end pieces they're supposed to be replicating.

I'm very curious about the $55 7206, though, as I'm not sure if I've ever seen one.  For that selfish reason alone, I say you should go for it!

Haha, I agree......$55 seems too good to be true though. I think I'm gonna order them both and see what turns up. Most people seem happy with the 7386 from WI so at least that'll be useable even if the 7206 isn't.

Rochest from WI has told me he can get both the 7206 and the 7836 for me, $55 each but can't assure me that the number engravings on the first links will be ok.

Think its worth the chance??

I'll maybe see if I can get photos first.

got the 7836 from WI today, the engravings on the links are ok but the folded clasp has a 93250 de6 engraved on it :)
