fulanito_uk
Hi all, Long time since i´ve posted here, but thought you could help me. Long story short i want to buy a 2nd hand Gen... and am thinking about this one, any tips before I pull the trigger? The seller is close to me so I will be able to pick it up in person. -Is this likely to be GEN? -should I ask for an internal mech. picture? Many thanks,
CharlieUK
How much are they asking? From those pics looks ok. I'd always open the case back though, its easy enough to replace the gen movement with something else. you have something to open it with?
k0hr
Open the case back, and see. If you don't have a case back opener, you could try the whole duct tape ball trick, which may or may not work. Or ask the seller to accompany you to a local jeweler/watchsmith, to verify it's legitimacy.
fulanito_uk
Thanks for the reply, 1. $1,968 USD not considering any discount (which of course I will ask for) 2. unfortunately i don't have anyone with that expertise at hand
kbh
Sounds like a decent price assuming it's all gen and not in immediate need of servicing. It would also be nice to see a good picture of the stretch in the bracelet. According to the serial number it's a 1972. Make sure you check the serial engraved on the watch and compare to the paperwork.
