watchfreund Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Hi, I want to send my Daytona (Phong case, v72, gen dial, gen hands, ...) to a service. Best in Europe. Which modder would you recommend? Domi? Thanks
sputim Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Stop searchin and send it right away to Domi. It takes its time but the watch will be in best hands and you will be more than pleased
theblueprince Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Yep, Domi, one of my V72(6) is with him now in fact. Wait 3-4 months but quality service is remembered long after the wait is forgotten.
tomhorn Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 I'd like this answer for those of us on this side of the pond. Since The Zigmeister retired, I'm not sure who the best choice is either.

Tom, I would contact misiekped first. He does fantastic work. He has done several watches for me, and I have been very satisfied with his work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
watchfreund Posted October 27, 2014 Author Report Posted October 27, 2014 Hi and thank you for all the answers. 3-4 months is a really long waiting time to be honest. Any alternatives?
candide2424 Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Try rolexaddict in France. I have tried to reach out to him with no success. I hope You 'll manage to. 1

prdubis Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Try rolexaddict in France. I have tried to reach out to him with no success. I hope You 'll manage to. He doesn't service V72
candide2424 Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 He doesn't service V72 I wanted to have him build my 7032 with no luck
ceejay Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 With the amount of gen parts on this just take to any competent watch smith. I can't see why they wouldn't service it. It's a Valijoux 72 movement not a rep. They might come back and tell you, you have been a victim of fraud. At that point just look horrified, shrug your shoulders and say "oh well I still need it serviced" Good luck.

sputim Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Interesting idea. But maybe also a bit to much risk? Just search for a watchs smith around you and call him and explain your situation. I did it once myself and 1 out of 3 was interested and glad to fix my movement. He was somehow not very pleased about the rep in the first place but on the other hand he was extremly surprised abour the quality of the watch and he had no clue that reps of this quality do exist.
dieselpower Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 I agree with sputim. If you can find a good, friendly, local watchsmith you can trust, he's worth his weight in gold. Good luck.
lukenorris2011 Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 Anybody asked SSTEEL if he services the v72? Life's a [censored], then you marry one!
