jackflash
Some of you may have seen this, a Milsub converted back to standard 5513 spec, appraised on the Antiques Roadshow.http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02dl7lc
HaydenM
not sure how I feel about the conversion from the original setup but still a gorgeous watch, and a good return on investment for the owner. Sad he will probably not wear it anymore, but perhaps he could buy his james bond watch instead.
jackflash
Don't think he'll get full whack. Couple of things the expert commented on were a little off. Interesting watch though, certainly worth the owner doing some research.
mcotter
Hands & fixed bars should be an easy enough correction.....It may have substantial impact on it's economic future! In any event a marvelous return on a 400 pound investment! Best, mcotter ( Thanks for sharing)
flex
The original milsub sword hands are not easy to come by...the so-called experts have no idea what he's talking about
denimhead
Nice MK1 Maxi dial with the longer thinner coronet which started from around 1975. Issued in 1977 so sounds about right. Couldn't really see but if the fixed wires are still intact its an easy enough job to put a folded bracelet on the watch as the endlinks don't need to function as such. Nice Christmas present for the bloke! DH
theblueprince
Ridiculous valuation in that condition as so often they are (both ways up and down) on Antiques Entertainment, sorry Roadshow. Everytime the show has something on that I know about the valuations are way out. I can only assume they are the same for items/things i haven't a clue about as well. pam007
30-40k pounds? Hash marks for the firsdt 15 minutes? Really? better than the super super rare James bond model? There is a mention on sword hands but no comment on why he has replacement hands or how that affects value.
Chuck P
Makes you think these "experts" do some quick Internet research to come up with their "knowledge".
ww12345
Yeah, I like how he points to the Mercedes hands and then describes sword hands, and acts like the MOD specified the fifteen minute hash marks.
pam007
i'm willing to bet money that the "Expert" thought the Mercedes hands were Sword hands
ww12345
I'd take that bet.
