ceejay Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 http://www.ebay.com/itm/271737923570 Seller stinks IMO but the watch looks good. What do you think guys? And final price...
POTR Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 No, it doesn't. It's $3k too much for a nice Pholex...
ceejay Posted January 17, 2015 Author Report Posted January 17, 2015 OK, I have picked up on the gaping hole in the coronet, the chrono seconds hand pointer is too short, the grooves in the pushers are too shallow, the font looks fat, lugs too thin? What else is there? On a learning curve here
508-Fanatic Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 But..but... it says Rolex on it? and he has great feedback!
tomhorn Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 OK, I have picked up on the gaping hole in the coronet, the chrono seconds hand pointer is too short, the grooves in the pushers are too shallow, the font looks fat, lugs too thin? What else is there? On a learning curve here The bezel is fake (the 110 is a dead give away), and not only that, but it's not even seated properly. At least he mentioned the crystal had been replaced, it looks horrible too.
ceejay Posted January 18, 2015 Author Report Posted January 18, 2015 OK, the 2 engraved bridges are a different colour to the originals. Although it is spinning there appears to be no screws in the balance wheel? Movement look very dirty also.
POTR Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 And... What 'color' should the train wheels be? What about the adjustment of that balance? What number is actually engraved/stamped on that movement? A movement from a watch of this range for serial number should have what kind of size and spacing for that number?
dieselpower Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 Dial is rep. Look at the "O" of Rolex then compare it to a close up of a gen, you'll see what I mean.
theblueprince Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 I am chortling at the sellers spiel " I am not willing to travel 200 miles or any distance to show you or your friend the watch as this is a risk i am not willing to take with such a high value item. "
dieselpower Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 Some poor sucker is about to get his fingers burnt.
kyldare Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 I'm so afraid to buy anything Rolex of eBay anymore. Some poor fool probably thought he scored a great deal at $18k.
theblueprince Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 Greed. Someone thinking he can get a bargain and make money. More fool them.
dieselpower Posted January 20, 2015 Report Posted January 20, 2015 Thought it looked familiar - here's mine:
dieselpower Posted January 20, 2015 Report Posted January 20, 2015 Please ignore above post. Wrong thread. My bad
