AsiadeCuba
I am on the verge purchasing a dw daytona but it has a eta 7753. I noticed its noticeably thicker. Is this the case? Does the 7753 need a thicker caseback? does anyone have any profile shots of their 7750 or 7753 builds? Looking to buy a DW with ETA or A7750 if you are looking to sell

Looking to buy a DW with ETA or A7750 if you are looking to sell Here I will try to help with some pics. DW Spinmaster 6263 with 7750. Rotor removed converted to manual and case back changed. Let my know if you need a different angle or shot. Good luck. Old caseback for rotor Sent from my droptop using telepathy.
AsiadeCuba
thanks drop. it looks pretty similar it might have just been the angle. let me know if you ever want to let that go! show us some dial shots too. any gen parts on that bad boy
droptopman
A couple parts: gen plexi, crown and tube. It is a good piece as it winds and keeps time well and chronos work. I got lucky. Was looking for something else and ran into this over at repgeek. Basically never worn. Guy bought it for his wife and she didn't wear it. Like to find a better dial but other projects in front of this. There is a guy over on rep geek doing some builds similar to DW. Not a Daytona expert but pics looked pretty good. I will try and track down the link next time I am at my computer. Good luck Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

ceejay
Call me pedantic, but those subdials look in the wrong position for a 7750?
Nanuq
Yeah compared to a v72 build they're small and offset.

I will pull case back and investigate. Bought from credible guy so just assumed it was as stated. Just starting to read/study the Daytona models. Sent from my droptop using telepathy. ceejay
Sorry DTM, I was being sarcastic, apologies. I was referring to you stating a 7750 when it's a 7753 configuration 3-6-9, 7750 is 6-9-12 I woke up with a hangover
droptopman
Oops my lack of knowledge. No harm, still much to learn. Hope you are feeling better Sent from my droptop using telepathy.
panerai153
Another upgrade would be to a better bezel insert. WatchNY on Ebay. Look at the genuine and then the DW numbers especially 110. Spacing is wrong on DW. That configuration is my favorite Daytona though. I had one of those, unfortunately it was one of the watches that MD2020 confiscated!! I hope that little prick enjoyed the dope he probably bough from selling our watches!!
ceejay
I have one of the DW daytonas and this got me thinking today. I remembered reading about a proper manual wind conversion for the 775- movement. I will be doing a service on mine soon, so while I am at it why not do the conversion. After a bit of searching I found out the bits that get binned and the replacement bridge I need to buy, Cousins UK part number 8501 for the Valjoux 7760 That leads to...There has been a thinner case back sold/supplied in the past. Where did that come from and how much thinner is it than the DW back that is designed with just the rotor removed?

He describes the build. Oh and mine is a Asian clone I believe. http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=71808 Sent from my droptop using telepathy. AsiadeCuba
You defiantly see the difference in the caseback difference. Thanks for the pic drop
ceejay
The thinner one is the one I have. That movement has just the rotor removed, so I wander how much thinner it is with the full manual wind conversion, if at all? I dug something up about the back on the 'mystery movement' Daytona being even thinner.

chaw6125
They are 0.9mm. The other standard seems to be 1.2mm I think. That is what come standard with my new ETA 7750s

That is what come standard with my new ETA 7750s Right on chaw6125, this is what I was thinking since I do have one gen crown and the other Athaya, both of my movements are from DW so if I'm not mistaken they're Asian clone 7750's. I'll give them a shot and post how they turn out! Cheers, -Will
