Fixing scratches

My 372 has developed hairline scratches on the lens. Have used toothpaste and it has helped marginally but not quite good enough. Anyone have a recipe for making it like new again?

What is scratched; the crystal or just the AR coating? If just the coating, then polish it off with a Cape Cod as Toro suggested. This will change the reflectiveness, but should also look better without the scratches.

Thanks for the suggestions, it is the crystal. I forgot about cape cod.

Personally wouldnt use cape cod unless you juice it onto the plexi and use a microfibre cloth

CC will leave very fine scratches like it does on metals under a loupe.... its a good remedy for taking out scratches and taking off PVD etc but you should be aware that it can leave marks in the long term especially if you use it incorrectly as there is a certain way you need to use it to get the best results...

Thanks Pete,

i have not used any thing yet and rest assured it won't be a cc cloth. The other acrylic remedies sound more promising.
