kernow Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 Great idea. A selection of mine. A mixture of reps and gens. I'm away from home at the moment, so will try and post better pics when I return home. Boobies are gen and not rep BTW

docthor Posted May 22, 2016 Author Report Posted May 22, 2016 Sweet Sent from my wooden drums via Tupperware
imajedi Posted May 22, 2016 Report Posted May 22, 2016 ew I'll play. A watch that I forget about until I put it on and then always think damn, that's just a beautiful watch. Also my very first Franken. What a Pandora's box that opened up. Lol my poor wallet.
hugop Posted May 23, 2016 Report Posted May 23, 2016 Built from all gen parts including a serialized case and 1120 movement. The dial patina gives it some great character.
docthor Posted May 23, 2016 Author Report Posted May 23, 2016 Wowzer...with sword hands...all gen I assume? Sent from my wooden drums via Tupperware
kernow Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 Yes, the 2254 is a gen. One of my favourites and the watch which got me started with my Omega collection.
kernow Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 Another gen today. This time a Seamaster 2230.50 on leather. As much as I live my 2254 above I sometimes want something with just a little more bling. This does it well - white gold hands and insert. Also has a kind of Yachtmaster look to it with the raised bezel numbers.
kernow Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 ........... Which brings me on to one of my favourite frankens. Built by Micky using parts that I'd collected over a few years. Starting with a closed factory case, Micky fitted a ProfSteve double AR crystal and a KeNnY relumed gen dial and hands from a 2230 Seamaster. A PO second hand, bezel and insert complete it for me.

Sogeha Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 I like that and the white dial a lot. I think I will start looking for a closed factory case and build something that omega never made.
kernow Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 The white dialled chrono should have a stainless insert. It's having one fitted ATM but the blue is beginning to grow on me. Closed factory Seamasters do come up M2M occasionally. Alternatively some people are using the modern Ceramic cases as they have the correctly positioned HEV. Whatever you choose make something unique
Sogeha Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 I like the blue bezel. These things are personal, but the stainless insert never appealed to me. I bought a 2531.80 when they were new and still love it. I'm also wondering about going the other direction to you and fitting a gen smp dial and hands to a PO rep. 1

I like the idea of that. In general, the PO hands never really appealed to me. Certainly not in a special/one off build. However, a SMP dial and (sword?) hands would look very cool. Maybe you should go for it?
Sogeha Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 Don't hold your breath I work very slowly, but I just made an offer on a dial. I'm not as anti PO hands as some, but I certainly understand the comments about them being a bit cartoonish.
carolinaguy99 Posted May 25, 2016 Report Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) Maybe a franken Seamaster PO to change it up a bit.... Still would love to put all this in the thinner SMP case one day. Edited May 25, 2016 by carolinaguy99
