mountaineer
I am looking to purchase a 7750 case for a franken tudor build. There is a site www.dw-daytona.com; that looks like you can order from them. I think is was the original source of dw cases. Has anybody ordered from this site recently or is long gone? Thanks,
tomhorn
Even if this site is legit (and I have my doubts), DW has a pattern of popping up, servicing a few orders, and then falling off the radar again leaving some people high and dry. Why would you want to chance it?
mountaineer
That was my concern. I was just enticed by the price of the case. Thanks for the reply.
panerai153
Second what TomHorn said. Proceed with extreme caution if this is the same DW. He scammed quite a few folks here and probably other forums. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
SSTEEL
Phone number on site listed as 123456789, avoid, sounds like the old DW.
RickFlorida
So does that mean the photos are of gen. Cases and he can't really make replica cases or he can make them but does not complete orders?
tomhorn
If it's the DW we all knew and loved (until he went bad), he sold great cases for the money. My v72 6263 uses one. Phong's cases, of course, are better, but a DW case was less than 1/4 the price. Unfortunately, DW started out solid, then got a little flighty, and then finally stopped fulfilling orders. He pops up in different ways from time to time, and rinse and repeats. Edited August 11, 2016 by tomhorn
mountaineer
I thought would be the guinea pig and just roll the dice. Order a case and hope for the best. If I get the case, other forum members would benefit. I went through the checkout process until payment. The only option was cash on delivery. At that point I ejected. I have never purchased anything via that method and didnt want this transaction to be the first.
kernow
If the seller is highly suspected of being a scammer then do not send any money, do not support them in any way. Yes, they may send out an item to gain some confidence from the marketplace - but it's likely they will scam again. We are a small group who should look out for each other. Generally there are options to source most things through the knowledge and contacts of the forum members here.
