gamba66
Hello, Im going to let someone (probably matt) build a franken 118239 for me. I have found an original but used whitegold fluted bezel from an 18239. Are the bezels different from each other (ref 118239 vs 18239) or should it fit without a problem? Also what is a realistic market price for an 18k fluted bezel Thanks in advance
freddy333
Assuming you are using a gen case, as long as you are not trying to fit a bezel from a standard (vintage) case onto 1 of the newer maxi-sized cases (or vice-versa), it should fit.
gamba66
I was thinking a good quality rep case, dont they accept gen parts? 118239 and 18239 are both 36mm but the 118239 has a bracelet with solid endlinks, polished lugs and a slightly more cushioned case A rep 118239 would accept a gen 18239 18k whitegold fluted bezel? freddy333
If your particular rep case was made to gen specs, a gen bezel will fit. Otherwise, not.
Accutronitis
No they are not all the same, Some are taller than others because the tall 18kt gold bezels weighs 5.5 grams and the shorter 18kt gold bezels only weigh 5.1 grams, I'm not sure but I think the difference is a 36mm datejust with a acrylic crystal vs the newer sapphire crystal Edited January 31, 2017 by Accutronitis
alligoat
I'm thinking that the 18239 and 118239 both have a 25-295-C sapphire crystal so the fluted bezel from a 18239 should fit the 118239. This is 18239 And this is a 118239- the bezel may be slightly taller. The big difference was between the lugs- the 118239 is curved and the 18239 is flatter between the lugs like the old 1803 and 18039.
mymanmatt
The bezels will fit both the 18239 and 118239. However, the new style bezel is 2.46mm tall. The old 18239 bezel is 2,23mm tall, provided it has not been polished. The inside diameter is the same 30.45 mm, unless of course it is stretched. The new style 118239 bezel has a step in it, the old one does not. The new one with the step requires a step gasket. It is wider at the bottom than at the top. I do know some dealers that use a reg crystal gasket and have not had any leaking problems using the new style bezel. When you sit an 18239 bezel next to a 118239 bezel, the difference is quite noticeable. The old 18239 bezel is made for a sapphire crystal.
gamba66
Thats why im going to matt, the man really knows his stuff! Btw I have decided for the 118239 because of the solid endlinks, on the 18239 reference they sit too loose for my tasteSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
