TmeShare Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 I wonder why there is no Tag Heuer Monaco with a working chronograph other than for quartz movements? It would appear that a Paul Newman Blue Dial Monaco could be done with the Venus/Lemania Movement as it has 2 subdials and the 3 subdial Monaco could be done with the Asian 7750. They make a Carerra with the 7750 which is a less popular model than the Monaco based on Tag Heuer's sales!! TimeShare

There's the 6'o'clock date which kills the idea.
ubiquitous Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 (edited) Hmmmm... A 7734 would work... Edited January 22, 2007 by ubiquitous
richard lawton Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 A Russian Poljot would work!!!!! No Problem
vdubpower Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 it should be done, no doubt anyone have the quartz one by josh?
jonthebhoy Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 I also wondered what movement comes close (if any) to the caliber 2 which they use in the Tag Monaco 69? JTB
Pugwash Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 I wonder why there is no Tag Heuer Monaco with a working chronograph other than for quartz movements? Seconds at 3.
ubiquitous Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 Hmmmm... 2894 would be the best candidate... Considering that the Caliber 17 is based on the same movement. But cost and movement availability would be of concern.
beano2004 Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 i had a gen tag monaco black face and i love the watch and the strap i ended up selling the watch due to someone making me an offer that i could not refuse. If a rep came out that was automatic i would jump all over it... reading some of these posts maybe i should build one...??????? Another project, maybe i should finish the Pam196 with 7753 transplant first. bean
beano2004 Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Who makes a model that comes close to the genuine model? I have looked at 4 or 5 dealers and i dont see anything that comes close? bean
archibald Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 I have a gen w/ the brown dal, which I love...and the 2894 is a great movement. What I don't understand is why they don't rep the non-chrono version that came out last year. IMO, the Monaco is a much classier watch than the idiotic golf watch, the link, etc all of which have been accurately repped.
Craytonic Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Gentlemen, Please click the link in my signature You never know, they say it is wide open for the next angel-jay-silix rep! I would buy one with each dial
