thealphabeta
Ah legend - you've put my mind at rest - i was gutted when i saw that at first. Now i know that a sweeps ok Also noticed the OEM dial is a bit shinier, i.e. the light reflects off of the waves more. Also as everyone knows the HE valve is higher and i thought noticeably so. Cheers by-tor!

Pugwash
Im happy this had a nice ending - i was standing in the shop thinking, bugger, thats a dead giveaway! I too passed an Omega AD today and found it amusing all the cheaper Omegas were running and the expensive autos were all stopped.
thealphabeta
I too passed an Omega AD today and found it amusing all the cheaper Omegas were running and the expensive autos were all stopped. I think that was exactly it. One was ticking and there was another that had stopped, i did wonder whether that may have been the case!
By-Tor
You can tell the difference between Quartz/Automatic versions easily. Also in midsize versions.
takashi
The picture is not completely correct. The midsize Seamaster shoud have a larger Seamaster font. Edited April 1, 2006 by takashi

Pugwash
You can tell the difference between Quartz/Automatic versions easily. Also in midsize versions. If it has 4 lines of text, it's an automatic. If it has 3, it's not. the extra line on the autos says CHRONOMETER

bkatbamna
Is this some kind of April Fools thread? The Seamaster Pro Chronometer is the auto version and the Seamaster Pro is the quartz version.
takashi
Nope... It's not a joke. The auto will have this wording: Seamaster PROFESSIONAL CHRONOMETER 300m/1000ft 4 lines as pugwash has said.
sailadams
Doh! Quartz is not "chronometer." Is much more accurate that any COSC chronometer. Ow ow ow. Must be fools' day. Never argue with an idiot. First they drag you down to their level. Then they beat you with experience.
Chronus
You should be able to pick up a second hand quartz SMP for just a bit more than the price of the average rep ($300 or so). Maybe you could use the case and put in an ETA movement if it fits.
