Spoooooonz Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 What is the minimum number of pieces needed for one of the rep factories to undertake a project?
Mickey Padge Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Four figures at LEAST I would say, but I could be way off
Lyndonville Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 What is the minimum number of pieces needed for one of the rep factories to undertake a project? Andrew told me they needed a minimum of 1K
Mickey Padge Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 28277 this is what I see in your Sig: This

Spoooooonz Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 One thousands pieces isn't so bad. So I reckon the wholesale on a standard stainless steel, sappihre crystal, eta watch is about $100. Get a good design and you could start a watch brand. Outside of replicas you are hard pressed to get a watch with eta movement and sapphire crystal for under $300.

Lyndonville Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 I have no friggin' clue. Is it here now?? Hmmm, I guess I'll find that out as soon as I post this because I saw it, too. Still here?
addingwatch Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 I have talked to Sash about it in the past. His min. number is 300. Regards.
Ben Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 why where you thinking of designing a custom watch then selling it? that would be pretty cool, your very own watch brand!
Pugwash Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 that would be pretty cool, your very own watch brand! It sure would. If it takes off, the rep manufacturers already have the patterns.
Tim Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 A dealer told me he needed 500 pieces I would believe 500 is a very valid number. How many gens have you seen put out as a limited edition of 500 pieces? Gevril drove me nuts with this. I bought a few GV2s when they first started making them again. Then they would change a dial color and call it another "Limited Edition" ... of 500 pieces. /Tim
turkey Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 Hmmm. I'm interested in where this is going and would be curious to try something like this out.
Watchmeister Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 I have heard on a number of occasions that it is a 1,000 pieces if you are having a dedicated movement made and substantially less otherwise.
Corgi Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 I was thinking something more along the lines of...
bigw Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 There is already stuff like that on the bay..Look at Alpha, Apogaum,,etc,,there are a number of those floating around..Unless it was a real good movement there's really no point
Ben Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 i think that a custom watch with some kind of RWG link/branding that can only be bought from this site would be very cool, and also you could make it very limited e.g 500.pcs so that maybe one day collectible and valuable amongst rep collectors, who knows it could be rep'ed further down the line!
Pugwash Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 i think that a custom watch with some kind of RWG link/branding No-o-o-o! You'll get some of the old timers crying into their Horlicks.
richard_uk Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 Yeah something like an Omega Railmaster would be nice, limitcd cdition model.
Jaymoi Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 @ Pugz I am actually amazed that Ben's comment on this thread hasn't made 200 odd members: Cry like babies Smash something Laugh like hyeenas Post something in response I can feel an RWG3 coming on.....
