Rolexman
This was in my todays newspaper. Translated it states: Watchmaker without arms: "Whang Jianhai (28) is fixing watches in a shopping mall in Peking. He does it in a special way namely with his feet. He learned fixing watches with his feet 5 years ago when he lost his arms due to an electrical shock. In China there are 83 million people with a disability...of which 22,6 milion have a job." No offence but I don't see this guy servicing an Asian 7750

stilty
No offence but I don't see this guy servicing an Asian 7750 Really? My guess is he is probably up there in the ranks of The Zigmeister. He probably goes that extra mile and puts 110% into the job. Unlike some North American who would probably go on disability and complain about how little they receive from the welfare system. Just my two cents.
b16a2
Wow that is some skill! I have difficulties in putting a strap on with my hands, let alone taking a watch apart with my feet!
crystalcranium
Why doesn't he have a watch strapped tp his ankle????? I wonder if a chronograph adjusted to 5 positions would keep COSC time on someone's leg!
sssurfer
What I find especially impressive is that the brain of a 23-years-old guy can take just 5 years (and possibly much less, not stated in the arcticle) to re-configure itself to use feet in place of hands. If he was a newborn or a baby, ok, surprise but no great wonder. But this way it is really impressive.

AMK000
I admire that (chinese) guy. It takes a lot of mental strength and love for life to do what he does.

predfan2001
Aw come on everybody. He's doing pretty good. Lets give him a hand...he only needs two. Ok, that was in poor taste but I couldn't resist. Which reminds me, how do you get a no armed man out of a tree? Don't worry, he can't climb a tree anyway. Corgi
That's a really inspiring story... I don't even want to think about what it would feel like if I lost both of my arms... but he lived it and bravely continued to serve his craft. This is a young man who suffered a tremendous tragedy and instead of moaning, complaining or 'taking the easy ways out' he developed a unique talent that could become very fruitful to him once perfected. I definitely would not mind him working on any one of my timepieces.

Just my two cents. Seems I've observed lazy, indolent people willing to rely on govt handouts from every continent. They always seem harder working when they're in your country but they've always got plenty of lazy brethren back home, same as anyplace else. Just MY two cents. triplehd
Unlike some North American who would probably go on disability and complain about how little they receive from the welfare system. Is that a knock against us Americans? I'm sure that there are many worldwide, not just North Americans, who would do what you just implied.....my 2 cents.
